Clicking on the KVR Newer button results in KSM hanging.
I updated a few plugins, did a rescan then a sync, KVR Newer is now reporting 49 newer plugins while MyKVR says I have 36.

This seems to happen only when Newer is the first filter selected.
What's the best way to clear out the local database and start scanning from scratch again?

Had the same issue - KSM crashed upon changing the filter to "Newer". I'd had another filter selected beforehand - can't remember which, but after switching to "Newer", the interface updated briefly, seemed to be working on something for a while and then Windows reports the application as not responding. 10 minutes later, and it's still unresponsive.

Are you both using the Windows version? I haven't been able to replicate either issue. Could you perhaps elaborate on your setups?
This doesn't sound like your issue, but the app can appear to hang if it scans a iLok enabled plugin which is a demo or not yet authorized. A common problem with any scanner... the popups can sit in the background and halt the scanning process. You are supposed to be able to continue though even with a halted scan.

Windows 10 64bit, latest version. Several hundred plugins (oh the shame....), same behaviour as sjm. I didn't have any filters selected, then selected KVR Newer - it appears to start updating, then hangs the application requiring a force quit after waiting for several minutes for it to become responsive again.
I cleared all the logs and settings files then did a fresh rescan/sync, this time waiting a bit longer after the sync completed, it worked as expected this time.
I do have a few iLok plugins, but all installed plugs are authorised, and no demos.

No iLok plugins, on Windows 10 (64-bit, latest updates). The scan completes fine (if a bit slow with lots of plugins), it's just the Newer filter that doesn't seem to be working properly (I think there were about 300 plugins that met that criteria btw).
All this with the caveat that I haven't spent hours and hours messing around, so there might be other issues. I just wanted to get a quick overview of how many plugins are not updated to the latest version.

Quick update: After restarting KSM, the Newer filter seems to be working fine. It's a little sluggish when first populating the list after selecting the filter, but it didn't crash. I was able to switch between filters as well. I'm guessing it's the images that are causing the slow response times - it feels like they are being loaded on demand, rather than all being cached at once. At any rate, scrolling in the list is initially slow, then becomes speedy once all the entries have been viewed at least once (by which time, all the images have presumably been cached).
My suspicion is that there's something going on between initially retrieving the data from the server and populating the client database that is causing the app to hang.

I have noticed brief slowdowns with the lists being populated initially... never a crash, but will make a note though to look into this.sjm wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 10:55 am Quick update: After restarting KSM, the Newer filter seems to be working fine.
