kmonkey wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 4:05 pm I just hope that WaveAlchemy won't end up adding every requested feature inside this instrument because it will end up in the circus. I understand every person wants a product, which perfectly fits himself. I am not going to pretend I haven't tried to ask for something over the years. I did.

Developers try to make a product, which fits as many users as possible.

It's not possible to fit 100% needs and 100% of feature requests of 100% of users. There always will be something that is missing. Not even U-he can do that ( ;) ) And you can not add up everything and have a perfectly balanced product (Triaz is pretty well-balanced IMO)

Let me be clear I am not up against upgrades but man ever second post is a feature request. Even for something that is already there.
More features doesn't automatically mean it gets cluttered. It just needs good design that's all. And as far as I can tell, many many features requested here don't actually need any more knobs or buttons. Some are just a simple tick box in the menu or should just work automatically. Or just a simple double-click to do feature (like the browser not loading presets with double click which a bit strange that it's missing).

valid point! i always double click first and wonder everytime why it doesn’t work…
Yes this please, I find the preset browsing non-intuitive.

I said I was not against upgrades. As you said it yourself, for example, double-clicking to load presets (or phase invert that you mentioned several pages earlier) wouldn't mean clutter. Or having "PREVIEW" button locked on or off (remembered state)

I was merely responding to what I saw which was almost every second response was a feature request. So it got me worried.

While you are here, may I ask you what you think about my rambling on the CHANCE tab being broken (visually):

Anyone out there know the best way to export the drum samples created from Triaz?

I'm loving Triaz, but finding that I need to grab the samples and in some cases process put them into drum racks in Ableton Live.

Thanks!

(To clarify, not just the separate samples that are provided by Triaz, but the mixed sounds created in the Triaz UI.)

Post

Depending on what you really want… probably easier to wrap triaz into a drum rack directly, it already does multi-out anyways.

Post

I have been exporting the MIDI from each pattern and then recording each multi out into it's own audio channel. From there I can edit and process as needed. I am really liking the sounds I get out of the machine though with it's onboard FX. I find that I just do a little eq clean up and the rest is drum buss processing.

I 100% agree with you on the chance tab. My brain has a really hard time working with it as it's completely opposite to how everybody else does it.

Exactly the same here. I can not adapt to the visually counterintuitive CHANCE tab at all. We are exactly opposite people

Now is the best time to put out a joke I heard many years ago.

So a stupid John Doe drives the auto highway and he enters in the completely wrong direction and wrong line of traffic and continues to drive without noticing it. He turns on the radio and the speaker says "Watch out people, watch for your lives as one complete idiot entered the wrong direction"...

John Doe goes: No not one...not one...all of them are driving in the opposite direction!!!!

:D

Chance thing through me off as well, but I adjusted. Since I generally just drag MIDI out from Triaz now anyway, I just add chance in the bitwig piano roll.

One way I use chance is by filling all steps and then randomizing chance. I just listen for patterns that work and then max those to 100% chance. Helps me find unique rhythms when needed.

Damn! I had a handful of responses/questions to WA that disappeared. Ehh well.

I'm probably one of the few that prefer NI/NKS. So I'm a bit disappointed that none of the improvements will make it into that version.

@Wave Alchemy, will the installment of the native version provide usage of th 5,000 new samples to the NI version? If not, are the new samples easily identifiable? Separate folder maybe? And how/where would we add the samples to use in the NI version?

I also have the TRIAZ sample folder linked to XO with some samples favorited. So easily identifying the new samples would be greatly appreciated.

Re: patterns vs kit piece setup, I think a good tradeoff would be 3 layouts; modular, standard and percussion. Pattern/kit experimentation is important to me.

Lastly, since a native version of Revolution was mentioned, I'm curious if the NI/NKS version will be updated. I purchased it after TRIAZ and was disappointed with the overall setup. It definately felt like an OLD instrument compared to TRIAZ.

The "new" Triaz library ships with all samples as WAV files and are sorted into well named folders - but cannot be used in the NI version (at least to my knowledge - unless that version allows sample import? I have never owned it).

I also just symlinked specific folders full of "new" Triaz samples within XO. Works perfectly and very easy to work with.

Just piping into say congrats to Wave Alchemy for the release. After checking out this thread and demoing Triaz for a few days, I decided to pick it up. Great sounds and workflow. I definitely echo some of the feature requests, but even for a 1.0 release, this is already really solid.

Thanks for the reply!

I get that they're wav files. I'm asking if the 5,000 new samples that are not included with the original NI version are identifiable.

I think they also changed folder / filename structure a bit. And in both NI and the new native version, they don't just load the files by filename, they actually have a map what files are loaded and then displayed under which title.

I don't see an easy way to bring this back into the NI edition. The other way around would work but doesn't make much sense :)

Not that I can see - since the new library completing replaces the old.
