I don't know how you proceed, but I complain only when a piece of software doesn't do what was advertised when I made the purchase - I complain about crashes, bugs and anything that doesn't work as advertised. I will of course observe that the plug is not working properly but then I will do additional action - write to support, ask for a solution.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 6:58 pmI don't mean to pick on you personally but I get frustrated at all the negativity here sometimes, especially since SoundToys had been entirely dormant for a while, and in the last few months put out native Apple Silicon builds and now added VST3 support. Those two things probably required resolving a huge amount of tech debt, and was probably a massive effort. I hope once complete, will allow them to focus on things like resizable GUI's and a SoundToys6. The company has been very active in recent months after what felt like a long hiatus. I just think we should be thankful of that and try to be positive that there will be more from SoundToys still to come. I get that you don't think it's enough, but if you're going to complain about it ("bare minimum" - which is actually an opinion not an "actual fact"), then at least admit it's complaining.sircuit wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 5:51 pm Can you make the difference between a complaint and a simple observation of actual facts? Or you just needed to pick on someone today? Or perhaps both? That beta testing must be exhausting![]()
Their plugs work for me as they did when I made the purchase (I use Windows) so I have nothing to complain.
However, lots and lots of devs (including the mammoths like waves and steinberg) managed to implement various solutions to mitigate the hidpi issues - that's on top of doing maintenance updates to their products -- this is a pretty decent support.
Soundtoys (same as Air Music Tech old plugins, which I use) on the other hand, they just do the bare minimum not to become obsolete - it's a fact, not an opinion. It's a fact that they don't have scalable guis in 2022, is not my imagination. So once again, I am not complaining, they work for me as advertised when purchased, I am just observing and pssing the observation to the op
if you want to know what a stellar support looks like, I present you u-he. decade old plugins got new skins, new preset browsers, compat with the latest software and hardware, you name it. Soundtoys? bare minimum.
If you still can't make the difference between one and the other, I really have nothing more to say

I hear you about the negativity. But Soundtoys is falling way behind compared to many others who have had vst3 forever and most everyone has resizable guis by now.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 6:58 pmI don't mean to pick on you personally but I get frustrated at all the negativity here sometimes, especially since SoundToys had been entirely dormant for a while, and in the last few months put out native Apple Silicon builds and now added VST3 support. For a few years we got nothing from them at all. In the last few months, we got two big things (silicon, VST3) so I’m willing to extend them the benefit of the doubt based in recent improvement.ATS wrote: Sat Sep 24, 2022 1:16 amI hear you about the negativity. Good tools, but be sure they solve problems as well as some of the alternatives out there.
The bundle has the rack plugin as well. Nice Soundtoys plugin chainer with some great features.
And it‘s all iLok stuff. If that‘s ok, it‘s a great set. I like the quick results and deep configurability of some plugins, such as Echo Boy.
Be ready to squint a bit on high res monitors
. If you‘re sure to make good use of them, there‘s little point in waiting for V6.

I’ve been using their plug-ins for years now. To my ear, they have a very distinct, signature sound and work well when spicing up a mix. EffectRack is absolutely brilliant as an effect chainer and it’s what I turn to for sound design exploration.
I agree about the GUI issues and other criticisms already made. I also believe that the SoundToys team has some very bright minds with plenty of experience working to develop the next phase of their acclaimed plug-in suite.
As a brand, they’ve earned a lot of praise with each new product release over the years. So I’m hoping that they will have some very special DSP features and new or updated effects as part of SoundToys 6. And hopefully, we’ll have access to that this year.

Honestly, Soundtoys are overrated. They were great a long time ago, but now they have been surpassed by other brands.ibsenproducer wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 8:44 am Hi guys,
I want to buy the SoundToys 5 Bundle in a deal for 229$ USD do you think worth the money ? or you think the Soundtoys 6 will be arriving soon?
Thanks,
Regards.

I bought PrimalTap because I wanted a Lexicon Prime Time model, and I got Little Plate, Little Radiator, and of course, Little PrimalTap for free. Those are nice, but I don't think there's anything more I need from Soundtoys.
It would be nice if they were resizable, but it's not a deal killer on my 16" MacBook.

The one Soundtoys plugin I most often reach for is Deviloc. It's really a hit or miss plugin. Either it makes it sound perfect or utter trash.jamcat wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2024 6:37 am I bought PrimalTap because I wanted a Lexicon Prime Time model, and I got Little Plate, Little Radiator, and of course, Little PrimalTap for free. I wait until version 6.
That saves me a lot of money because that will never realise...

I think you are right and wrong at the same time. While there are tons of other plugins that are capable of doing the same things, I feel like some of their plugins sound better than their counterparts like Decapitator and Echoboy.martinjuenke wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 7:59 pm WAIT!
Because it saves you a lot of money (version 6 will never come).
There are better alternatives, cheaper and frequently updated.
