 Hi, i don't want to cheat but if it were normal to just patch the channel to another to further EQ it there then it's fine. In a virtual instance, creating another bus for the plugin and routing it there. But if it's not a standard procedure, then i wouldn't want to cheat.

I'm trying to EQ out a resonant frequency at 125hz. Problem is, just scoping in on it with the low knob isn't as effective, it's still there even if the knob is turned all the way down even with the bell. And if i just use the High pass, i loose all the low-end of that sound.

How would someone get around it hardware wise as compared to a virtual environment? :?:

I was able to cut a 125Hz sine by -28.4dB with these settings:

So actually more than with the surgical EQ:

Or am I doing this wrong?

Sounds like your source sound should probably be replaced/re-recorded. It's obviously not fitting. Probably spend less time replacing the source than trying to wrestle it into submission at this point.

More less a parallel reverb bus, with a short tail. On the drums.
The other IR's that are as much basy don't have such resonance.
It's just that i liked the depth this particular one in altiverb 7 gave the drums. And i wanted to keep it but without the boom.

I'm not an expert but when i checked what it does through a spectral EQ like you.
Without the bell it didn't duck at all. With the bell, it ducked around -3db of that frequency? I expected an allout cut.
