Valhalla DSP Room v 1.62 to 2.0 migration?

Hi,
I have used Valhalla DSP Room extensively with a few projects. I had been holding off on installing last November's update, and I will be making the jump from a v1.62 install to the latest v2 iteration.
I am wondering if the addition of the new Space and Lo-Cut parameters will cause any instances in my old projects to change in sound or character.
Valhalla indicates that they have contact support, but they have never responded to the very few questions I have asked over the past 12 years.
Does anyone here have any info they can share about how the new controls integrate with old settings?
Thank you.

Don't update for the moment !
In theory there's no problem of retrocompatibility, and your old sessions full of 1.62 version will sound the same with the 2.0 version.
But there's a bug with this version : it doesn't recall correctly the hi-cut and when you recall old session it's stuck at 8kHz (it saves the value of the 2.0 version though).
This bug is fixed in a beta 2.0.2 version since more than one month : I noticed them the bug and they did send me the fixed version in 2 days. For any strange reason there's still no new version online.
You can contact them at contact@valhalladsp.com in order to get the beta (Sean always answered me quite quickly)...

Hi,
Thanks again for the heads up. I would like to point out that the v2 version that I casually described as 2.0, which is dated Nov 2023, is described by Valhalla as 2.0.5.
So, I am writing to ask if you can confirm which version you have identified as having the bug and which would be expected to have the bug fixed.
Thank you!

I actually run a Beta version numbered 2.02. So it seems Sean did fix the bug silently and updated a new version.
In the download pages, the 2.0.5 version is dated march 15th, so it's a very recent release. I guess it's fixed now... I'd be curious to have some feedback from someone else, or some release notes : I can't risk anything fancy at the moment because I've got a gig next week...

Hi,
Thanks to everyone for the helpful info.
I don't know why I got confused and thought v2.0.5 was dated Nov 2023, but I sure am happy to learn that my timing was fortuitous and my interest in updating coincides with the release of the latest version.
Thank you.

Where are these changelogs made available? Pity Valhalla doesn't provide notifications when they update plugins...adl wrote: Sun Mar 17, 2024 8:50 am Here´s the chaneglog for 2.0.5CURRENT VERSION: 2.0.5 (UPDATED MARCH 15, 2024)
