Half a meter away (or perhaps a bit more) at a Windows scaling of 150%... it took a bit of time getting used to move the head a bit more as not everything in completely in view but now I would never ever change it to something smaller...
The 43" TV got a supersharp and pleasant to look at display... everything looks so polished and beautiful...simple more precious... it´s hard to explain if you haven´t made the experience on your own... I can only say I enjoy it everytime I start the machine over and over again and can´t get enough of what I see...

Can still use Alpha ok on 2560x1440 but its a bit of a squint.
Also can use https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 0bc19a18e7 shortcuts
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

Some of the elysia plugins are a little small, but I think they're okay to read. It isn't as bad as the ADA-STD or older SPL plugs, which are awkward to see even on 1080p.

It's a shame since the main product image of a lot of PA's plugins are far higher resolution than the actual plugin you get.

the tiny size and/or non-sizable GUIs of PA was #1 reason to stop using them, on par with the annoyance of the never-ending spammails.

I use 2x 43" 4Ks also and if the gui is too tiny I will not use it. Some of the PAs can scale to 150%, but 150% of nano is still very small.

Too bad, some of the plugs are okay. Like indeed the elysias and the SPL offerings.
The Oven is a bit better, that isnt that small. But still.

Softube was also going down on my list a few years ago, but they came just in time with their scale-able GUIs otherwise I would have dropped them as well.

poor elysia! will their hardware gear shrink IRL too?

2k is perfect. even non-resizable GUIs not generally too tiny, and plenty of real estate.
i have one 2k for main page and one for the mixer, and leave the midi editor on my laptop screen
I agree very much with this. I use 2 x 27" 2k screens and it's great. Huge area, can see details perfectly, and the non resizable Elysia Alpha is workable.

In 4k I think it would be too small.

And I have to agree the fonts on it aren't that great to begin with. Amazing bus compressor though, wouldn't want to be without it especially for mastering.

Instead of releasing every month a new plugin, they should take care about their old plugins, otherwise you have 1000 of plugins that you don’t want to use

That's a very broad statement...! 1000s of plug ins. Are you talking about Elysia, pia or just about the world in general.

I only stop using plug ins if I really found a better one for a job. There are really only a few that have completely stopped working, or seemed not worth continuing with.... And it's not been Elysia...

PA is releasing every month, or maybe two months a new plugin. They don't do any updates for existing products, no scalable UI etc. Others like Softube take care about existing ones and update their whole arsenal

Ok, so not 1000s... Just some.

For me the tools > screen resolution.

2k still seems the better option, audio plug ins etc not ready for 4k in my opinion. The beauty of it being such a wide and creative market, also means it takes a bit of time to adapt to e.g new plug in formats, new screen resolution. Not to mention all the time devs have to waste when apple breaks core functional.... this clearly takes away time from things like scalable you.

If I had 4k I'd be resizing windows to 125 or 150% in all likelihood.

I'm surprised nobody has built a plugin wrapper that use AI to upscale plugin ui's even on 1440p a lot of the unsizeable plugs are really small, fortunately I have a 1080p monitor to move them to if needed but I'd hate to imagine what they're like on 4k

Why would AI be needed?

Are there any non AI tools that upscale perfectly ?

Post

None of the "AI" (lets be frank, there is no AI in anywhere there) upscalers work PERFECTLY. I am a graphics artist. They are always a compromise over redone in higher resolution.

Sometimes they work good enough, like photoshops internal upscaler 2.0

If something is really too small you can probably just double it's dimensions and have to take four times the are. In all likelihood you just get it back to how it looked when it was released.

It might not be quite as smoothed as a more recent SVG gui, but should be fine.

Some hosts like Cubase can do this plug in UI rescaling already.
