I don't think so, there used to be directly after Brexit.

I got a desk shipped (2022) with everything included in the price.

as above, i think there was some deal signed later, as part of the "we didnt really mean to vote to leave, we just wanted to stop paying in" business that happened afterwards.

What's been tending to happen is that bigger companies (e.g. Thomann - https://www.thomann.de/blog/en/an-updat ... customers/) have decided to handle it and include the duties etc as part of the upfront price.

Recently got a Joyo American Sound; it's a really affordable simulator of various Fender amps, and a clone of the SansAmp Blonde. The sound is there, but the feeling is a bit lacking. Still, great pedal, great price, and I can totally see myself using it.

Also picked up an Ibanez Stagestar, a Strat clone. Probably spent too much, but it's solid wood, and I'm in the middle of nowhere. Put a magnet-swapped Super Distortion in the bridge and a '50s-reissue Strat pup in the neck and it sounds great. I'll upgrade the (old, but surprisingly functional) tuners, round over the fret ends... and probably add a dummy coil and another pup in the middle.

Put a magnet-swapped Super Distortion in the bridge

Speaking of magnet swapping, I'm going to convert some pickups to T-Tops (the Jimmy Page pickups), which requires getting rough cast Alnico 5 magnets and cutting them down to 2.2 inches. Apparently the shorter magnets are what gives that sound.

You lose a lot of output with a dummy coil. Good to use an active preamp or boost pedal if you go that route.

DHL says 'out for delivery.' There's about a 90% chance I'll be sending it back. It needs to give me teh tonez I don't yet have. Plus, the thing weighs 10 lbs. I don't like heavy guitars in my dotage. But I shall see.

Ok, a mini review.
I like the tonez I can get out of it. The action can get quite low without buzzing.
The 'Indian Laurel' fretboard feels dry in comparison to Rosewood or Maple. I used some Fast-Fret on it, it improved, but:
The neck is not as comfortable as my Strat or Tele.
I like the pups for lead runs, but they're not that clear for chords.
It's going back. At least my jones for trying a Jazzmaster is satisfied.

The only "new" thing around here is my second-gen of this device. I don't notice any tone diff between it and a wire from my strat to be completely honest : I think it was $35 from amazon and the battery lasts longer than I expected.

I have been interested in something like a JazzMaster. I played the J Mascis model and while I don't normally like Fender necks this one didn't seem too bad. However I am also curious about the G&L Tribute Doheny but I haven't seen one in stores around me.

Purists want the traditional bridge but the G&L will stay in tune better (among other benefits). I wish the pickups were hum canceling.

The jmascis pups weren't bad, noise-wise.
