Come on guys, I just expressed an opinion an I even did it politely, at least I think. Didn't mean to be mean, I simply tend to prefer devs who listen and update often.
Just that.
Sorry if I hurt someone with this. Passive aggressiveness? Huh?

From my perspective he is one of the most responsive devs to feedback (always responds with detailed prompt replies to my questions / suggestions), and outside of this latest update, Toneboosters updates their stuff pretty regularly. Just look how far the V4 stuff (especially his EQ) has come.mabian wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 7:35 am Come on guys, I just expressed an opinion an I even did it politely, at least I think. He is working on something new right now, which likely explains this latest longer update.

Definitely - please read again what you wrote - if you really/honestly can't see it I'd be shocked.

I did re-read. I wrote I'm thinking of preferring to support other developers, more inclined to listen to feedback like what I submitted and to update their plugin more often. Once upon a time, this was described as freedom of (polite) speech...
There's no personal nor professional attack, there's no insult, just my humble point of opinion and point of view. If this can be perceived as passive aggressiveness then I likely have to revisit my English.
Or...somebody is a bit too sensitive. Or simply both.
Or... this is KVR

It's that you basically publically stated:
"I'd like to support Toneboosters, but they still haven't done what I asked them to do so chances are I won't"
which actually comes down to:
"Implement my FR ASAP or I'll stop buying from you and will badmouth* you on the forums.", just that you worded it in a more softspoken manner.
*something you actually already started.

Indeed Mario. And the freedom continues in politely pointing out how entitled you sound.mabian wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 2:10 pm Once upon a time, this was described as freedom of (polite) speech...
Maybe you could threaten to hold your breath until they implement your FR? Might work.

Or I could simply keep my opinion to myself, it seems the best option.revvy wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 2:40 pmIndeed Mario. I'm not threatening anyone, I'm just voting with my wallet. I have DualVCF, MBC, BitJuggler on my radar, just like AberrantDSP plugins. I don't want to get both, I'll have to choose. And no @jens, saying that my FR wasn't implemented is far from badmouthing in my book. It's a fact. I'm not angry about it and I don't blame Jeroen, I'm sure he has his reasons and his priorities - to be fair he replied to each and every support request I sent including FRs.
But, for example, look at what Polyverse and CableGuys are doing with filter plugins. DualVCF could have evolved into something similar. Yet it hasn't. Priorities, market demand, and time available I guess. Not a problem, as I said, I feel free to write, free to choose.
Jeroen won't suffer too much from me not buying more of his plugins, and I still admire his work.
Thanks,
Mario

EQ4 runs super smooth now. It uses much less cpu as well. Also when pressing "a" to audit an EQ-band, it all works slick! This was not the case before. Great update.
Make more music!

First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

I’ve got Barricade. Don’t really need any new features and am just pretty happy he updated quickly to M1 and hasn’t abandoned stuff.
Which of his plug-ins have you got? I guess you feel they are missing new features

Ah, indeed! Not using so much more than FL's included eq now, which is some going.Songwriter101 wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 5:30 pm EQ4 runs super smooth now. It uses much less cpu as well.

Nope, "voting with your wallet" is literally done with your wallet, not by posting on an audio-forum.

Ah ok, I cannot even mention it then.
I don't really know why you're aiming at me like I was the worst troll.
Anyway, you know what? You're so right, why do I even bother posting here?
I'm seemingly violating all the rules, so I guess I'm not supposed to be accepted peacefully here. Good Life.

I*m not and I'm not picking on you for the fun of it - I'm really sorry if it feels that way.mabian wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:16 pm I don't really know why you're aiming at me like I was the worst troll.
I just felt the need to counter (i.e. strongly oppose) your post, that is all. But after all that was just my opinion, of course. But if I would consider you a troll I wouldn't have been as kind and mild to you as I was.

This simply isn't true, there have been updates on iOS quite regularly over the past six months, this is a one man operation supporting multiple platforms, maybe you don't care that he supports iOS, but that is irrelevant, he does, his effects are definitely the standard on iOS, and he keeps them up to date and working across multiple platforms (Not so easy with Apple)mabian wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2024 7:57 pm A bit underwhelming for around six months of no significant updates... I'd like to support them more, but the fact that they ignore some feature requests I submitted and don't improve some plugins to express their potential better (DualVCF should have ZDF filters and more) doesn't help much...

It is only 9 months since he put out an entirely new synth (Lowtone)
I would be interested for you to point out a developer that has so many plugins in their range across all main platforms, and updates as regular or more regular?
Your post is disingenuous at best, and meant to hurt the developer at worst, that is why you are being treated like a spoilt brat, nothing to do with free speech or people being overly sensitive.
There is a simple fix for all of this, leave the thread and buy from other developers.
Duh
