That got my interest... I'd ignored it until now but I'm checking out some demo videos. Nice sounds!justin3am wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:02 pm It's an absolute monster of droning, groaning and unpredictable bursts of weirdness.
If they had put a touchplate keyboard or ribbon or something instead of the minikeys I might have said "me?" I'm not gonna go replace my Minibrute 2S with one, but I probably could have.

Brutal. I just can't with long wait lists like that. There have been a few times when one came up second hand with all the bells and whistles but I passed in the end. I'd love to spend some time with one of the newer models though.pekbro wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:47 pm Doh my cirklon spot came up, no money for it sadly. Took more than 2 yrs i believe.![]()

Yeah, totally! The folks who were involved all have synth history and lots of great ideas. I can imagine they would have liked to do something more interesting with the interface but I'm honestly a bit surprised that Ringway (our manufacturer) pulled this off at all.foosnark wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 6:03 pmThat got my interest... The Minibrute 2 is a good comparison. It can get to the same territory but it's more controllable than the Mal, IMO. The Malevolent's second Osc is more flexible and the filter/drive section gets really aggressive and insane but I basically ignore the keys and arp.
There was a guy at the meetup last night who had a pitch to MIDI converter for his electric violin and we had a lot of fun with that. We used the MIDI to trigger Mal and then split the violin's output so it was going to the aux in for the filter. Some great sounds indeed!

I could swing it if i really wanted, tho it would be irresponsible, likely. Anyway, imjustin3am wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2024 6:33 pmBrutal. I just can't with long wait lists like that. over it pretty much. 2+ years on a waiting
list (not to mention the $2k ish pricetag)
can do that i guess.

2+ years is a log time to wait. I get cranky after a few months.
A friend of mine got on the wait list for an EMS VCS3 (yes, they still make them) in like 2009/2010 and received theirs in 2021. Can you imagine waiting 11 years for a synth!

ouch yea 11 yrs is a long time to wait for a synth, tho I spent more time than that collecting the u-he stuff during sales. I still
dont have everything yet, maybe one more
thing to go. heh

That's crazy long! Didn't know they still made them. I was holding out hope for the Behringer version... since that's more likely in my price range.
But I get impatient too. Still waiting on DXG and Erbe-Verbe. Erbe Verbe is supposed to be next month, but damn, it feels so much longer than expected.

Talking of Behringer they announced they were making a Roland SH5 clone four years ago and they just went on pre-order at stores like Andertons. Same folding form factor as their Poly D and MonoPoly synths.
£549 is more than I’d fork out for a mono synth, especially one with very little cv automated control, but it does sound good from what I’ve heard.

Did anyone here buy Error Instruments’ White Rabbit? Not that it’s available, but I was just curious how it stands up to other delays/reverbs.
I’m strongly considering buying Brinta

Thinking the same thing too. Not sure if they're just having fun because of April Fool's Day or if it's a new product launch.vurt wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2024 7:45 pm so now im thinking, make noise may have something new soon??

On one side, Walker keeps mentioning Spectraphon, but considering they're officially stopping production on 2 modules (Function & Erbe-verb) that leave the door very much open.
Will have to think hard on this. I think I really like Brinta.

walker said in chat "april fools forced our hand" i figured he meant they had to start the "promo" or whatever this is? (mebbe hoping for tunes from users? for a new record?) early...:elxsound wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:56 pmThinking the same thing too.
