I don't think, no, I am not the only one with this opinion
Yeah you are - amongst us real guitarist the PA-amps are considered to be amongst the best there is (they're all developed by Igor Nembrini btw., who is generally well-respected).

Just from your ridiculous posts here it's fairly abvious that you have a loud mouth but no real clue. you obviously try to boost your ego by attempting to appear as an expert while you're just some beginner - how well is that working out? :hihi:
From time to time, I do get curious and click on "Display this post", just to instantly remember why I blocked him in the first place.

It is incredible how little actual content someone with that post count made. I mean, statistically speaking one should be able to make a smart post after that much typing, but apparently no.

Anyway, voucher indeed works for Wave Alchemy bundle, ended up paying $45 for it.

One can not have enough reverbs...

Oh, that's a hell of a nice price for the four of them!

Im in the no-vouchers camp ATM and just spend70$ on the Oven, Silver Bullet, U17 and Natalus - out of which at least the latter is a really nice surprise by the way.

Completely agree. The biggest issue with PA is that their catalogue is now so vast but it does indeed contain a ridiculous amount of very high quality plugins.

All Elysia plugins are amazing (coded by the legendary Michael Massberg).

All plugins coded by Reimund Dratwa are absolute gems (there are a LOT of them)

Some rather innocent looking analogue emulations are very good too like the Amek 250, the compressor etc. Vastly underrated and thoroughly dismissed due to them being PA.

Many of the console emulations are really good and very interesting, the only thing setting them back is the way overdone TMT component tolerance randomization thing. But if you ignore that then most of them are great! Special standouts being the Focusrite console and SSL E channel, in my opinion.

Knif Soma EQ and the Knif Synthesizer are exceptionally well done plugins!

Unfiltered Audio stuff is really unique and there are a lot of them!

Vertigo VSM-3 and VSC-2 are really good!

Even some of the guitar amps are really good and fun to play with. Sometimes I use them only as impulse response banks as there are some very well recorded impulse responses in them!!

And pretty much everything they've released in the last year or so is absolutely gold. Neold Wunderlich being the latest one and it's really REALLY good!! LTL Silverbullet is superb, one of the best mojo plugins ever released in my opinion.. etc etc.

So yeah, Plugin Alliance may have their pricing all over the place and looks like a gimmick but the plugins themselves are high quality and definitely not gimmicks! They are some serious tools!

My $50 voucher arrived today

I used to be on the $75 voucher tier when Dirk was running things, that guy made sales feel like drugs. New ownership hasn't felt the same the whole time and it wasn't long before I was back down to $25 with the way they've run things. But, for people without a lot of PA plugs, it's pretty easy still to get into higher vouchers and get some pretty useful tools along the way. Just have to remember they're not all the same quality, not all the same value to your productions, choose wisely or do one of the cheaper yearly subs that lets you keep some at year's end so you can get a real sense of what it can do for you, IMO.

I have most of them but have not really a use for them... :help:

Most of them are - if I had one negative thing to say about them is that they tend to be a bit samey - but then again that goes for real amps too - heck, it can be nigh impossible to tell (a good) real transistor amp froma tube amp.

If course you would say that as - as you have pointed out so wisely - it's new. :hihi:

I have to have a closer look at that one - I just got it but so far I have been a lot less impressed than the praise it received would indicate. (It seemed a bit OTT for my taste.)

As I mentioned, the standout for me personally so far was the Natalus - that thing is genuinely something! (It's a thing of subtle beauty.)

Silverbullet has a little known exploit you can use: Push things into it way past 0dBFS.. it can do ridiculous amounts of really nice sounding soft clipping. Don't be afraid to keep the meters completely pinned at the redline. Just make sure all the knobs on the actual plugin aren't pushed hard. Also, make sure you experiment with "backplate" easter egg, where you can change the serial number. For instance, here are two very different sounding serials. Try 100 (this one is quite forward, punchy and wide) and compare it to srn 38, which pushes transients into the background and flattens everything in the z-axis (depth perception).

Oh yes, Natalus is an absolutely superb plugin too! It is superb at taming transient peaks in a really musical way and the EQ is super fun to use and abuse.

Thanks for the tip - I have to look at it more thoroughly - but I just quickly tried it again on vocals and so far find it somehow just too "hairy". It's not the kind of saturation I personally usually prefer it seems.
(But then again I hate the cello of Apocalyptica's lead cellist for quite a similar reason while others obviously love it (I always feel like I need to clear my throat when l hear it) - it's all a matter of taste)

Post

Ah I never used it on vocals. Almost always on spiky stuff like drums, drumbus and of course it's usually superb on the mixbus. Also I never really push it into clear distortion, just using it to add some rather subtle mojo and transient taming.. and it does that cool stereo image shifting and z-depth superbly.

I just looked at it what it does with Insight (because I wanted to find out more about what I hear) and especially with/due to the stepped control and especially A goes from one step to the next basically from barely noticeable to almost straight mayhem. This thing generates more overtones than there's sand on a beach.

So no wonder I don't like it.

Post

I don't know what or how you are driving it but it can be really subtle! The Harris Doyle Natalus EQ produces a lot more harmonics at it's default settings compared to the LTL Silver Bullet.

I tried to use my voucher to get Wunderlich earlier, but there's no option to use a voucher at checkout. Have asked support whats up, but they haven't responded yet.

A voucher-code is automatically applied when you put it in your cart. "SLO: NEOLD WUNDERLICH for $89.99" - it deducts 40$ and if you have a voucher that's more than that and want to use it then you first have to remove the automatically added one.

Since you can only use one voucher per transaction, have you checked to see if a voucher was automatically applied? You can remove automatic vouchers and then add your own.
