No we won’t.
We could be arguing in our spare time.

Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 5:32 pm At least this 'Chinese Saurus version' tells me that my graphics design skills can't be that bad if Behringer clones my GUI
Only they didn't clone your GUI not by a long shot.

Your GUI obviously copies vintage synth designs, Behringer uses wood grain but mainly has a large window that displays information your plugin doesn't

Both GUIs has different controls

I have your plugin, I also downloaded Behringer's their GUI is far superior as it's focused more in displaying helpful information rather than fake wood grain and fake knobs
the behringer does look less cluttered.
how does it sound in comparison?
Both are pretty generic obviously inspired by older vintage analog Synths. Sometimes you need "generic"

The Behringer is free of course. Some users seem to have issues with presets, I didn't

It took me all of 5 minutes to map everything to my standard controller setup for vintage analog style subtractive synths. From there I was off to the races. It's two osc, two LFO, two VCF

Aside from the usual hate from the usual Behringer haters, for free it's a nice two osc subtractive synth plugin. It's not going to break any new ground but it's pretty nice for free

I already have this territory covered but for free why not

I do like the large display especially for the envelopes especially as you can control them via a controller

Vortifex wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 3:27 pm So they took Ableton Analog, put the Saurus skin on it, and wrapped it up in an Arturia browser.
I guess if you want to find stuff they allegedly copied, then you will find that stuff. In any plugin.
Don't be mischievous and remove context from quotes. I wasn't being that serious, as the bit you omitted implied :tu:
This wouldn't be KVR without removing context from quotes. Why work with what the person wrote when you can change it up and create drama that wasn't there in the first place?
So, let's add the stuff I allegedly "mischievously" "omitted":
Never change, Behringer! At least it's free. Maybe there was some collaboration?
And what does it change now? Indeed, nothing.

And, talking about drama: It's being created by people claiming that Behringer copied this plugin from someone.

Use brain please.
I'd argue you'd might want to follow your own advice  The guy didn't claim that at all. He was clearly joking given Behringer's, uh, rep at this point. Its pretty clear someone was inspired by Saurus which is great because Saurus is a great synth plugin.

I doubt it sounds like anything any of us can't do with at least five other synths. Decent freebie for newbies maybe. Although give the excellent free synths available now it might now even contribute much for that use case.

Softube Model 80 is on sale right now for $80. It's normally $159

The Behringer Plugin is free. The Model 80 is a decent emulation of the Prophet 5 the Behringer Plugin will cover different sonic territory

Clear (edge) browser history fixed that for me.

It’s not really “free” if it costs you your soul.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I very much doubt it myself but you never know when a new synth might surprise you. I probably will check it out at some point. Either way, it is rather novel to see a software synth release from Behringer.

Yeah, it sounds like a bad VSTi from 2002, I guess that's what they meant by 'vintage'?

The Beringer sound like a toy from the 90 VA era.
An epic faill. Surge XT, Tyrell, Odin 2 sound way better.

Decent ? Model 80 sound terrific, probably the best Prophet V modeling

It sounds like the free Behringer plugin. If you want to describe it like a bad VST from 2002 awesome as it's just a different sonic flavor one you can get for free

Prophet-5. "Prophet V" is Arturia's emulation of the Prophet-5.

I have Repro and the Arturia Prophet 5 all the Prophet 5 I need. What I don't have is a plugin that sounds like a toy from the 90s VA era

Now I do and it was free and cost me nothing, and unlike actual 90s era VSTs runs on modern operating systems

You obviously seem to lack the creativity to fit a plugin that sounds like a toy from the 90s VA era into your music, but I most certainly do and welcome it, it's a different flavor and texture that I didn't have before

The Prophet 5 has been done to death, toys from the 90s VA era have not been

I am happy any time a free plugin comes out that sounds different than other things I already have. I have 5TB of harddrive space why wouldn't I download it

I have the creativity to use it in some form or fashion, it's a shame you don't

And you are obviously taking people's reviews of a plugin personally and feel the need to be Uli's white knight of the moment for some very strange reason ..
