Nope not at all I just don't understand the hate or the reason to crap all over a free plugin or compare it with ones that cost $160 at full retailmothra wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 3:12 amAnd you are obviously taking people's reviews of a plugin personally and feel the need to be Uli's white knight of the moment for some very strange reason ..IvyBirds wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:52 am You obviously seem to lack the creativity to fit a plugin that sounds like a toy from the 90s VA era into your music, but I most certainly do and welcome it, it's a different flavor and texture that I didn't have before
The Prophet 5 has been done to death, toys from the 90s VA era have not been
I am happy any time a free plugin comes out that sounds different than other things I already have. I have 5TB of harddrive space why wouldn't I download it
I have the creativity to use it in some form or fashion, it's a shame you don't
I get it you think it's cool to crap on Behringer on online forums, I find that silly and stupid. Especially for people who praise softtube who clone other companies instruments in digital form
But knock yourself out if it makes you feel better about yourself
As for me I will just use a free plugin and enjoy something different, again for free

Thanks for bringing some similarly stupidly designed plugin GUI to my attention. Lets’s gather all of themseafire wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 5:08 amaudiouser720 wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 8:26 pm. The GET YOUR FREE LICENCE link on the plugin doesn't even work, so I have no way of knowing how good or bad this thing is. After creating my account and filling out forms with personal data (they even require your mobile number!) I don't even get to try it! Still, from what I've read here, it's no great loss.

To prevent speculation: We did not take legal actions against Behringer.
However we downloaded the 'Behringer Vinatge' plugin and will check out if parts of the graphics artwork from Tone2 Saurus has been used without our permission.
We are in no way collaborating with Behringer. We are not responsible for the graphics or anything else in this plugin.
Behringer decided to take the link down for themselves (as they customers asked questions about our possible involvement ?) or are having technical problems.

I found much the same - glad(!) to see it's lagging in other hosts (I was using the new Sonar).Vortifex wrote: Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:02 pm It gives you the option to not install the standalone version, but when you run the VST it tells you you need to licence it with the standalone version![]()
The synth part of the interface looks decent, but it's surrounded by a gigantic black border that pointlessly takes up about two thirds the space of the actual synth.
Sadly it's completely broken in FL Studio. It responds to keypresses seemingly at random. The controls lag and stutter. Unusable.

When I heard that Behringer released a free synth plugin I was genuinely looking forward to trying it, thinking that this might be a worthwhile goodie. Personally I have nothing against Behringer, after all they make great tools available to the less affluent music enthusiasts (I haven't tried their hardware replicas of famous synths, but I like the fact that they offer affordable versions of these famous boxes).
Then I watched the first video demonstrations of the synth on Youtube and was negatively surprised about how bad it sounded. As others have said: the sound reminds me of the very very early days of virtual "analogue" synths, back when the DSP technology was not yet sophisticated enough to really recreate the intricacies of analog circuits. In fact, even 20 years ago you would find synths like Minimogue VA by Glen Stegner that probably sound better in comparision?!
I tend to think that even if you would use standard DSP blocks such as the ones included in audio development frameworks like JUCE you would end up with a better sounding synth. So I wonder: what went wrong? Or were they deliberately going for that overly generic and digital sound? But then: what is the point of calling it "Vintage"?

Didn't have to give a number here, skipped it and download worked fine.mcam wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:43 am The GET YOUR FREE LICENCE link on the plugin doesn't even work, so I have no way of knowing how good or bad this thing is. Hm the question remains to me: Why? Who needs a not-so-good sounding analog emulation vst? Is this using deepmind algorithms or what is so special about it? That it is free? I don’t get it…
