Speaking of tasteless copying, the keyboard controller in the picture is such a blatant knockoff that it was mentioned in several tech journals. Anyone want to venture a guess at what company’s keyboard controller got copied? I’ll give you a hint……..starts with an “A”. :D

At least they changed the color scheme on that one
Agreed. I’ll give props for that. They must have really stretched their creativity on that one. My bet is that they hired an outside consultant. :D

Interestingly most of their copies of "massive companys hardware synths and controllers like arturia etc" that are modern do not look like their name brand counterparts. The Arturia one is similar in appearance but a different color, but the mother32, DFAM, et. al look nothing like the Moogs. And there's probably a reason for that. This is the opposite because it's not copying any of tone2's instruments in any way worth talking about but it looks something they had a hand in.

What about the inventor of the oscillator? No? Then they're hypocrites. Now all Behringer is doing is releasing a software that goes bleep bloop, how can you say that Tone2 invented that? Tone2 didn't invent software, or synthesizers, or colors, or pixels, so I don't even need to look at the two pieces of software to draw my false equivalencies.

But they're all right, and wrong at the same time.
Because really, it's just another Behringer.

Using your own arguments/insults constantly repeated - those that think it looks like a Tone2 ripoff must be blind. Go to specsavers you blind old bastards.

And no we're not all genZ yoofs. I'm 59 and was around when Behringer were known as cheap shit - I bought some of that supposed cheap shit that outlasted most of my really expensive boutique gear. Lexicon dead, LA comp dead, various Roland synths dead, Korg Wavestation dead. Behringer composer (comp/limiter) alive, Behringer quad gate alive. Admittedly their mixers were cheap shit...still are if I'm honest. I have no interest in a VA Behringer plugin, or Tone2 VA plugins. But obvs I should want to pay at least double the price for hw, especially as I can now afford it. Because obvs I can buy new Cats, Wasps, SH5s, 303s from so many other companies. I can buy a Minimoog for $10k - fkn bargain, I say :dog:

It's not high horses here...some are riding giraffes. The air must be thin up there so please be careful.

Listen, most movies are inspired by other movies
ie , the plots ,genres etc ,now the characters and story’s are different but a lot use the same ideas etc , a lot of songs have the same chords and tiny bits of melody's borrowed from other songs , inventions that were never finished were then copied and finished and bettered by others , what if a painter copied Leonardo do vinci’s mona lisa but then gave the woman bigger eyes and blonde hair and painted her smiling and called it happy jennifer , would it be the same ?

the behringer swing is not the same as the arturia key step , not exactly, and would some people rather buy the original ? of course because it’s the original piece of art and there not exactly the same

the vintage is not the same as the tone2
i don’t care if they have similarities
they code has not been copied or stolen
it’s just “ inspired by maybe ( even though i don’t think they look the same

diva is ripping off roland and so is tal uno does anyone care ?( no because there just inspired by really )can we stop this madness and just enjoy something ? after all there not actually stealing anything or killing anyone , people will still want mona lisa’s even if happy jennifer’s exist.

I’m going to take a wild guess that you are under twenty.
The hypothesis that everyone who doesn't hate Behringer is some kind of ignorant young whippersnapper is dead wrong

I don't hate them and I am a grandfather in my mid 50s

What I hate is the elitism often displayed and if people think that synth manufacturers are all non profit companies with the exception of Behringer who is the devil

From my perspective more people owning more instruments and more gear to make more music can only be a good thing

Did Behringer make some really crappy gear? Sure they did. Did Yamaha, Roland, Moog, Korg and every other company make some really crappy gear? Sure

Does pretty much every company make stuff in Asia? Sure.

If the country club crowd wants to sit around looking down at people and talking about how only only company can use knobs, square buttons, or fake wood grain on plugins well that just makes them look silly

I bought one of their mixers recently (should have known better), and tbh that really is cheap shit. I wouldn't record through it, though useful for standard stuff. But twice as many cheap channels for double the noise :hihi: .

Actually their original stuff tends to be the cheap shit, but the knock-offs are built like tanks and often better than the originals...go figure

Only by ignorant people who have zero experience with them

The Moog One has to be the biggest piece of shit of the past decade and it costs $10k

The Prophet 5 rev four was released with extra parts that made it sound bad and it turned out they had pretty much zero Quality Control except that Dave Smith who was very hard of hearing tried out a few

Boing sends out multimillion dollar planes that have doors that fall off

My first hand experience with Behringer gear is that it's just as good or bad as any other gear made by anybody else

IMO (I know I'm a heretic here) the Moog One is not even worth $10. TBH I wouldn't even give you $7.50 for it...(and I have it on good authority that Moogs are made by Chinese prison slave children). :hihi:

Yep! This :tu:
I purchased a Behringer mixer around 1995, and yes, it was shit and cheap, but was all I could afford at the time. Moving on, I now have quite a few bits and pieces from Behringer and everything works as it should and is also very good quality, especially for the price. (No, I am not a teeneager either :hihi: ) Their free software synth on the other hand..... :scared:

You joined 4 days ago and all of your 5 posts are in this thread depending a synth that nobody really cares about.

I guess you were just motivated by how amazing this synth is to join and take up the fight?
