Well, I have one that was 4:12 and I am shaving the ending off - even though it's the best part, but the rulez is the rulez and without rulez this contest would be a mess of be chaos, consternation and arbitrary opinions...Sleek Month wrote:How serious is the time limit?
Considering there is the requirement of a 2 minute excerpt (for logistic convenience in downloading/judging), I'd say that time limits should be thrown out the window when it comes to the full track.Sleek Month wrote:How serious is the time limit? [...] So, what's the consensus?

After all, we're blathering about the "soul" of your music and what you love about it, right? As such, I don't think that a limit is very conducive to the spirit of the thing!
Then again, I'm not judging this particular contest, so that's just an opinion...

Hey I was just trying to be ironic.Sleek Month wrote:Personally, I'd rather hear your track at it's full, unpruned 4:12...
My background is a lot of three minute pop, but also concept albums (Tommy, Quadrophenia), and long-ass Sabbath and such with interesting arrangements.
