Would it not make more sense if everyone just gave the full money to the fund and there was no cd? I think some folk just want to see their name on a CD here and lathough I applaude you for trying, I still think if we all just gave and asked those around us to give it would be quicker, less hassle and more profitable in the long run.

i understand what you are saying macnasti, but not everyone is willing to give for nothing
so maybe we can squeeze an extra few pounds outa people after christmas and new year if we offer something for it no?
and why not ask those around us to give as well?
every little helps.
as for artists gettin on a cd,i dont think that anybody is going to get famous from this, but if they do then so what maybe they can make even more money for the charitys afterwards?

The CD is there for the music, that any profit is forwarded to charity is a bonus. I.e. the CD is not meant to be a replacement for supporting charities yourself!

and my offering ...
... the track involving the martin luther king sample was sidelined (due to time constraints in researching the legalities) and i wanted to offer something specially done rather than an old track (and the word 'commercial' put the fear of god into me TBH - heehee) so i dug up an OLD unfinished track started in massiva (thanks to my mate dunc for the guitar stuff) ... transferred it painfully / painstakingly into energyXT and did some tweaking ...
... might make a nice CD closer if the committee so deign ...

well, I've not heard from horse, and the tune I wanted to share is only in mp3. It's too late to do another version, but I see more than enough people have submitted to fill up a cd.
So, I'll just participate by ordering a cd.

If it is any help I can offer to distribute the CD in the UK. My mail order department can send out the CDs...I will fund the postage.
This means that more money goes into the coffers, rather than on postage and packing materials.
All we need to sort out is how to get the CDs to me (I have a ParcelForce account and can get them to collect) and how you are going to get the customers' details to me.
How's that ?

When will you inform us if our songs are acceptable, so we can send a wav file your way?

well make sure to have a preview mp3 of your song up. then it'll take a day or two until its decided which songs go on the CD - if a song does, the author is notified and asked to supply a .wav file. I figure if the song were a little different in the .wav file compared to the .mp3, that wouldn't be hurting anyone
Do keep in mind though that a preview song thats 3:20 long, and the .wav is 4 minutes long might lead to trouble with the overall space available on that CD.
