I decided to do a quick demo of the Sonic Reality/ M-Audio ProSessions Yamaha C7 Piano refill. It is short and naked..just solo piano. There is no compression and no effects other than 3 instances of Reason's RV 7000 reverb.

I know from another thread that somebody didn't care for the sound but to my ears it sound pretty damn good. I also enjoyed the playing. Was that you?

Thank you. I think a proper demo would be better - one with layers, bass, drums, etc. That way you could see how it sits in a mix. But I thought it sounded fine naked.

Actually a lot of fun to experiment. Rhodes & Piano from Sonic Synth 1 played through Sampletank 2, Percussion all from the Sampletank 2 XL library, "ahhh" voice, wibbly wobbly bits and pad from Sonik Synth 2 free.

(Bass, drums & loop by other instruments)

And all chucked together in my new and wonderful Cubase SX3 with lots of Kjaerhus free compressors and so on.

While I was writing the piano part I thought it could do with existing by itself without the beat...maybe I'll work on it more. But for now my 3 Free Kings bow before your mercy.

I really enjoyed the Elec. Piano and the piano. They sat well behind the bass and drums. You could hear them but they were in the background. Tasteful too! Nice time management as well. Good use of 4 hours.

Mighty hero, You you question of "What song were you playing?" was directed at me, no name. I had thought about a demo of the piano refill since someone (in another thread) asked what it sounded like. But I've been busy, so I just fired up reason, played it, listen a couple of times (and fixed a wrong note or two), and rendered it. Maybe I should have made a proper song.

What's with the Groove Salad thing btw? Does it have any reference to the SomaFM internet radio station called Groove Salad? I listen to this occasionally - theres some great stuff on here, and your track sounds like it would fit on the channel perfectly.

Thanks for the comments. No association (other than the fact that we actually have the name groovesalad trademarked and they don't

). Groovesalad is the name of a collective venture including myself and at least 3 other artists who every once in a while get together to do tunes. We're hoping to do alot more together in the coming year.

It was. It sounds alot like a country song, is why I asked. I thought maybe it was 'because you loved me' or something like that.
