I've personally got a thing for sans-serif, lower case fonts, so the Alesis Ion gets me off.

On the other end of the spectrum, I absolutely hate the uber-80's look of the Kurzweil K2000.

I agree on both counts, Warmonger. I always thought the Virus c was good looking. And the Korg Ms-200B is OK, but the Microkorg is ugly, in a cute ugly way. I think the ugliest synth around now is the Alesis Micron.

Hmm, I've only seen the Micron in the one picture on the Alesis site, but even that picture gives me one impression: cute. In fact, I have a hard time choosing between the Micron and Ion for which one I like best. Strangely enough, the totally different style of the Andromeda was my previous favorite before the Ion.

And before anyone says it, no, I'm not an Alesis fanboy. I've heard a Quadrasynth and a DM5 before, and wasn't terribly impressed by either the look or sound of either.

My Trinity was gorgeous. Ion looks very nice, especially the red ends. MiniMoog was very ugly.

By prettiest, I just mean "most aesthetically pleasing", but that's a bit wordy for a subject.

Anyway, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who hates the K2000. At least the K2500RS I used was a big improvement (with a huge, bright LCD too). Also glad that someone brought up the Ensoniq. I quickly looked at a couple of them on SynthSite, and I couldn't find the one I remember as being ugly, but the Mirage was in my mind too.

It's awfully hard to argue with the Con Brio for flat out ugliest. I simply had never heard of it/seen it before.

Regardless, black/white reversed just looks cool.
And the swirly plastic on the Rheem's was to die for. Probably ugly by today's standards, but I love 'em.
