Whilst I agree multi-outs would be nice.
I dont ever use multiouts in any of my drums.. not battery, not maschine, not Life, not TR 808, not Electribe, not Speedrum not even superior drummer 3. I actually didn't even realise it didn't have multi outs prior to this thread.

I'd say you're almost certainly in the minority there. The original DMX had multi outs. No right or wrong way to do things of course, but personally I use individual processing on almost every percussion sample before running it through some group bus processing.

I'd love to see Gforce do the Matrix/Xpander.

Due their focusing work on other Oberheim synthesizers I guess could be one of the next release

Yeah, I wasn't advocating that they shouldn't add Multi Outs at all, it would be nice for those who use it.

I looked at the original email I got when we started testing it. There are key things in that which sadly are not on the product page, which therefore means I can't disclose, but that may explain why there is no multiout, currently anyway.

With you on the Matrix/Xpander.

If you're talking about the Xpander/Matrix-12 (or Matrix 6/1000 and later), I'm not sure - they are mostly closely connected to Tom Oberheim's instruments, and much less so the ones that were done after Tom was no longer involved with Oberheim.

Something like the Xpander/M12 would be a pretty enormous undertaking too, for something that had nothing to do with Tom, especially as there already is one which is supposed to be decent, but we'll see. Maybe they're on a mission to go all in on Oberheim...

Apart from the OB-1 (and how many more SEM's do we *really* need?), they're more all less done all that Oberheim stuff now, unless you really count the OB8/OB-Xa as substantially different from what OB-X can do...

I thought Battery 3 had some samples from this, so I checked it out and yes it's there. The kit is called Overtime DnX. I am still interested in this new one though as the quality of GForce products is just too good.

Post

Sure, like all the classic drum machines, samples are everywhere. This makes it a bit more like working with the thing though, and is a bit more fun than just loading a Kontakt patch or something, though not as powerful as loading a kit in something like Battery with all it's processing and editing options. Happy middle ground ;)

So the only reason to buy this is for the crunchy downsampling? I already own the samples so I'm good.

That or maybe some other ARP synths?

Anyone having an issue with favouriting? I faved my fave kits in the library (toggled the heart icon), then realised when I loaded DMX later, all the faves were gone. I just tried again, I can fave a kit, select a different section in the browser, and when I look again, the fave is gone...

This is Mac/AU version...

Edit: Ok, it looks like the faves *are* preserved (the black heart is visible in the patch name at the top), just the heart icon is not displayed correctly for that patch in the actual browser (it's always white/empty).

Post

Alas I don't use AU, but I don't have that issue in Cubendo with vst3 on mac or pc.
Sorry.
