The new GUI does make it much nicer though, for sure. But I don’t think I would want to spend $99 to upgrade if I didn’t get it free. Though my OCD would probably compel me to anyways.
Really the main problem is the lack of algorithms from the H3000 that made it what it is. Band Delays is nice, but Factory is, as I pointed out before, just a couple of the algorithms with ‘Factory’ in the name (but not “Reverb Factory”) that seem to be Happy Meal versions of full effects. The H3000 Patch Factory algorithm is a modular collection of basic functions that you can string together to create different effects. This is why H3000 Factory is rather underwhelming for what you would expect from an Eventide Ultra-Harmonizer.
What you’re missing is all of the algorithms and presets that the H3000 is famous for… those signature effects that you recognize from classic albums and big artists. Or any of the actual harmonizing effects.
These are the H3000 algorithms you don’t get:
100 - DIATONIC SHIFT
101 - LAYERED SHIFT
102 - DUAL SHIFT
103 - STEREO SHIFT
104 - REVERSE SHIFT
105 - SWEPT COMBS
106 - SWEPT REVERBS
107 - REVERB FACTORY
108 - ULTRA-TAP
109 - LONG DIGIPLEX
110 - DUAL DIGIPLEX
112 - STUTTER
113 - TIMESQUEEZE
114 - DENSE ROOM
115 - VOCODER
116 - MULTI-SHIFT
118 - STRING MODELLER
119 - PHASER
120 - STUDIO SAMPLER
What you do get is:
[H3000 Factory]
111 - PATCH FACTORY
122 - MOD FACTORY|ONE
123 - MOD FACTORY|TWO
[H3000 Band Delays]
117 - BAND DELAYS
