I'am trying to make a roundup of programs that allow to build waveforms ! :)
I tried EZ Editor, you enter math formulas and it creates the waveform, great but I'am looking for more ... I like the fact that you can set the lenght in samples.

The waveform builder of Absynth is great but you can't export files for other programs.

A standalone program that could create in many ways waveforms ( and wavetables ) to be imported in all software and hardware , wouldn't it be great ?

Have a look thru this page, you might find something that works:

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Thanks Whyterabbyt, I'll try them !
I thought I'd seen some as well at Hitsquad ...

I fear it's one approach at a time in many cases though , there's at least a one guy market for an app that will pile together all sorts of methods and offer taylorization of the waveforms ( bit depth, sample lenght ) for the client programs / hardware ! :D

Here's your solution:
- Get the demo of Chainer (will be sufficient) at www.xlutop.com
- Load Abysynth into it.
- Create Waveforms to your likings.
- Head over to the export menu, set up proper export values (for single waveforms the hold and release values can be extremely short) and mappings.
- Export.

The only downside here is that you will end up with more than one single cycle and therefor you will have to manually tweak each and every file again to make it loopable.

There's someone working on a kickass variation of the VSTi autosampling function, you can read the thread here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

As you may see, this thing will support autolooping - which is just kickass!
No more need to adjust anything manually. So basically you load any VSTi (or layer them), add FX to your likings and the result will be a perfectly multimapped waveform table.
Should work very well for both simple and complexed stuff once it's done.
Cool, eh?

AcidWAV seems to have some advanced sample generation.

It's in the link that Mistah Rabbit gave you.

BTW, Stomper Ultra is suitable for a LOT more than just building drum sounds. Just a bit of a PITA to set up all the pitches...

Simply bounce/render the waveform from a default patch (use the internal recorder of Absynth when using the standalone version), and then cut out one cycle (which is easy with zero-crossing option in your editor enabled).
?????????????

Thanks for the ideas & workarounds !
Indeed in the link Whyterabbyt gave, there are many very interesting programs :)
Later the " meal " is burning :hihi:

I am programming one right now..... but its is unfinished ......
maybe in one or two weeks it is ready....

cheers!

Right in time Thiago ! 8)
I haven't been overwelmed by my tests of the others softs ... :?
Trouble is that for instance the Dave Smith Evolver accept 16 bit and 128 samples long format, I got a waveshape but too long : big hassle to make it fit the required lenght and more or less keeping the original shape.
Would be great to have templates of " n bit and x samples " for each synth ... then build by additive ( a.k.a Absynth, Rhino ) + wavedrawing and tools to " work " the shapes, math to build from scratch and wav extractor that will fit any sample into a given " template mold " of course altering it but roughly keeping the shape.

My program features... (completly beta right now)
you can select Magnitude and Phase of each harmonic..
you can draw the waveform directly...
load a wav to modify it...
save the waveform in the format you want.....
Randomize functions....

I made a module for SynthEdit, called WaveDraw.

Okay, looking for it Thiago ! :)
Sorry no_signal, I'am not into SE creations for now, once I've sorted what I need and use then later, I'll see ... I keep it in mind though.

Quite a long time ago I tried out a thingy called Quack. Little components (oscillators, ADSRs) you could click together like in a monular synth and it exported a WAV of the rendered tone. It must have evolved meanwhile...

Hey Thiago - very nice looking program.
