I beta tested this and I didn't experience any and didn't hear of any such reports.

I'm not experiencing significant CPU hits on my less powered computer either. Asked if there were specific patches I could run to see that, but no one offered any that I've seen.

The only one that gives me some noticeable CPU usage is the "Aqua Rhythm" alpha preset.

Just checked that one on Mac, I would indeed say it is 'noticeable' CPU Usage, but nothing 'exuberant' on my system anyway.

It is on my SP6 (my coffee shop companion

) but on my other system it's as you described.
The v2 is super-efficient even on that old SP6.
