Automating fx in Audio receive channels ..in Live!

I posted this on the Ableton forum aswell but I thought this community might be larger..


Is it possible to create a clip with only midi automation data in an Audio track? I would like to automate data for vst fx on an Audio track receiving audio from the Attack, residing on a Midi track.
But if I put an audio clip containing the automation data on the Audio track, the new audio clip blocks the Attack audio and plays the new, volume-dropped, clip.

I can see that it is possible to write this automation data in the Arrange view, but I would like to know if it is at all possible in the Session vew.
