A well-behaved signature.

I think it might be Stylus RMX for me.

NO dynamo used to be a collection of reaktor ensembles sold separately , pre core areaosiris wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 8:18 pm Reaktor used to be Dynamo, correct? Reaktor changed once NI brought in Dr. Sync. It's basically turned into Sync Modular, now it's Blocks or Bloks or whatever.
Was this really only 2005??

In 2005 reaktor 5 got really serious with the addition of the core dsp language ( dr sync -vadim zavalishin-sync modular )
IN 2010 two new (verry advanced and stellar sounding ) primary modules were added : sinebank/modalbank which to this day don't really have their counterpart in pure vst land , a whopping 10'000 partials
IN 2015 reaktor got a few updates to the core language , scoped busses ,fiberbundles to make programming in core easier .
A new face lift and BLocks , but blocks is NOT a new hierarchy , these are just reaktor instruments with core dsp adhering a certain rule for compatibility between them .
2021 saw racks+on screen cables, again not a new hierarchy but more a closed environment within reaktor to monetize bloxks ( which didn't really work out
THe cables are really just inlets and outlets

All in all , reaktor is still Primary + core .

I only have vague memories about Dynamo. I have the last 64 bit Albino which was so ahead of its time. GUI is wonky. I also have the free MicroTera they gave out one year. Wish I hadn't deleted Tera when I thought the company was going away. Tera was a beast and very hard on older CPUs. I also use the Alchemy Player with some soundsets i bought. Sounds great, but again with the wonky GUI. I don't know what the deal is with the older things UIs. They're very touchy (and not in a good way)

I' m unsure of what was previously but Reaktor's prequel was Native instruments Generator. NI changed it's name to Reaktor and in early versions allowed to exporta binaries (can't remember if that was a dll or exe file).
On the other hand, SynC Modular was in direct competition during Generator time... Reaktor fused both in One with the Reaktor 5 update.
SynC Modular still works as VST32 and there's a freeware license released by NI some years ago. You can find a great ensemble repository with nice examples... I think i should uplosd to KVR some day.
Maybe that SynC Modular VSTi IS the oldest already usable nowadays.
Some more:
- ERS/Redshift Audio Drumular
- ERS PolyIblit
- ERS Iblit
- Vemberaudio Shortcircuit 1/2
- Drumatic 2/3/VE
- Muon Tau mk2
- Synthedit v0.9 Plugins (there's both crap & gems)
- mda ePiano (attached to mda Leslie)

SyncModular is the oldest Vst(i) I still use, still amazed by what it can produce. Bought at v0.49 got the free update to Reaktor when Dr Sync was bought. All in all he was the most fair when it comes to buyouts I have ever seen. Used Reaktor v2.3, v3 (Ni tried to get me to pay $79 for the dongle, seriously NO. Called them on it they sent it for free), v4 (that can no longer be authorized, again seriously nuts). But good old Sync lives on in my Linux box.

Generator. That was it. I found that download for Sync Modular, and it still works, but no Ensembles to load. Loved Vaz Modular but it lost the charm when it became Vaz 2010.

Currently using some very old HG Fortune Synths, that go back as far as 2005. In particular STS-11b, STS-17, ProtoPlasmTS Pro, all of which are highly inspirational, and now I can again save my presets in the newer versions of Reaper.
