It seems to me that it is not a typical bass but more of a lead playing in a low octave, but its sound is powerful for me,
I'm not sure if they used the so-called layering leads or spread it over, for example, two octaves. The sound seems slightly metallic to me, so it may also be FM synthesis.

It starts at 25 seconds:

I have prepared a flp and midi file that should sound more or less like the original song.

From vid, it sounds like some random squiggly wavetable thing with maybe a bit of unison on it? Dunno.
Bass starts at 51 btw. (that got some unison, for sure)

Lots of squashed reverb on that.

Not a noteworthy sound... could be done in anything 20 years old>>>

Have you tried a slap bass or guitar preset from a 90s keyboard with the transient squashed out of it?

they sound like vocal chops to me.
the weirdness probably comes from playing much lower notes than the original tone but it's just a hunch.

That bass has a lead-like quality, likely layered with a sub for depth. FM synthesis could be part of it, but I'd also try a detuned saw wave with some chorus and slight distortion.
