ZL Eq, a free Pro Q alternative ?

i’m trying it out myself, anyone tried it already ?
is it as good as pro q ? or does it fall short ?

(not my video or plug in by the way i just watched a video recommending it as a free alternative to pro q)

it’s not clickbait because it’s not my video or plugin mate and if you watched it you would see what it is, i just see it a while ago i’ve never tried the Pro q , so wanted to know what others thought as i know that’s an expensive and popular equaliser , i see this plugin in a sage audio video.incuded the link now anyway .

i’ve done it now , sometimes putting a comment here or anywhere online is a quick passing thought ,or otherwise i have to think it out make sure it reads right like i would do with a story or lyrics mostly i haven't the patience for that in forums somewhere i quickly post in the middle of something else on my phone( never go on forums on my computer ) i didn't think after watching a short video googling zl equalizer would be much of an effort for most people who wanted a free eq ?, i now see the error of my ways , but i would have watched the video as i’d rather look at a video before wasting my time installing something but that’s just me , wrong to assume everyone’s like me .

Just tried it. It's not as intuitive to use as Pro-Q3 but the features are absolutely top shelf! Very nice dynamics section. Exceptionally flexible and very good sounding. This is probably the finest free Pro-Q like alternative out there.

Usability wise it's still got quite a bit of development to be done to be close to Pro-Q3 in operation. For instance, if you select multiple filters and then change gain, it is only added to the overall gain of the filters instead of relatively controlling each bands gain.. so you can't easily select 4 filter nodes and reduce or increase their gains proportionally.

Sound wise ZL Eq sounds "cleaner" than Pro-Q3 in my opinion. Noticeable when dragging a filter node around high frequency content. It's just less "grainy" sounding around the edges somehow. Probably the filter shape is a bit different compared to Pro-Q3.

Overall this is a real winner!

maybe put some feedback on the guys video i read some comments i think that is the actual guy who made that video , seems like he is developing it , why hasn’t he posted it on kvr ? looks like a winner , kvr challenge money to be made , maybe he don’t know about it can you contact people on github?

it just doesn’t work properly for me in Luna dunno whether that’s a luna problem but everytime i make a eq euros and start moving it around the graphics start messing around making it unusable atm wish there guy had support on here .

you could submit an issue on github if you want the dev to see it. (if you do, it might be helpful to include screen caps of what you mean, describe in a bit more detail how to reproduce the bug)
