Plugin Delay Comp

For everyone who is suffering from non compensated latency introduced by energyXT there is a great useful new plugin by Voxengo called "Voxengo Latency Delay VST".
You simply insert it before or after energyXT and your host (like Cubase/Nuendo,etc.) will compensate the latency Y O U specify.
Note that you cannot use this within energyXT but it can compensate for the total latency caused by the sum of the plugins inside of energyXT.
And it´s even free!
Check it out at www.voxengo.com

Er.. wtf are you on. You can use it within XT. I use it when I use SIR (convolution reverb)miamiwave wrote: Note that you cannot use this within energyXT but it can compensate for the total latency caused by the sum of the plugins inside of energyXT.
I offset all the dry channels to sync with the wet SIR channels.
Thats just one application of the plugin.

or "Voxengo Sample Delay VST".
I´m talking about the new "Voxengo Latency Delay VST" that is only out since January 2nd.
Of course you could use this one also within energyXT but it wouldn´t make too much sense as there is no PDC within energyXT.
All it does is fooling the host that there is a latency so the host (which needs to have PDC) predelays the track/instrument to compensate for the delay that is not reported by energyXT or SIR or whatever plugin you´re using.
Check it out!

You´ll either have toh2ogun99 wrote: How would I know what to specify?![]()
a) look up the plugin information of your host program and add up the delays or
b) try it out by phase inverting a dry copy of the track that needs to be fixed.
Set all plugins to turned on but flat settings - same level as the dry track. Keep adding "negative" delay until the signal gets cancelled out by the phase inverted dry track.
Takes one minute maximum.

sorry,
a) how do I a phase inverted track in eXT?
b) and which settings exactly should the plugins (both on the original and on the dry track) have?
could you please explain it a little more detailed

OK. I´ve mentioned this earlier.
1) There is nothing to be done within eXT.
2) This plugin is only necesarry if you´re using eXT
a) within another host (e.g. CubaseSX) as
a "plugin" itself and
b) within eXT there are plugins which are causing
latency (that are not compensated by eXT).
(If you´re using eXT standalone you don´t need it.
If you´re using eXT as a instrument host [which doesn´t cause latency] you don´t need it either.)
In order to check wheter the latency you´re compensating is correct you copy the track in your main host (e.g. CubaseSX) and invert the phase of this copied track in the CubaseSX mixer.
(Make sure the eXT insert is N O T in the channel)
If the volume is set to the same level and all plugins within eXT are turned on but set to a flat setting there should be no more sound as it gets cancelled out by the dry phase inverted copy of the track.
BTW that´s just to check if you got the latency delay settings correct. No other function!

but I use eXT as my main host.
and in the seq-comp I load eXT as plugin.
so isnt it the same as in Cubase?
and if I use e.g. the SIR reverb on a track, it has latency, or?
so how do I do it in eXT?
how do I do the phase invertion (rigth word?)?
sorry for the questions.

So you don´t need PDC. eXT doesn´t support it!

That latency is compensated by CubaseSX since SIR I S reporting latency to the host. CubaseSX has PDC.
>>>so how do I do it in eXT?
you don´t (can´t). eXT has N O PDC!
>>>how do I do the phase invertion (rigth word?)?
phase inversion is done with the phase inversion button on the CubaseSX channel.
