The generations will evolve, but I have much less faith that NI will. At least not in any useful and meaningful way.

Innovating would require actually taking risks. Not something that established companies are known to do.

of course you do, it's a universal psychological phenomena, not unlike "Paris/London/New York/Dublin/Tokyo/Berlin/Seattle is dying!", and it's always people over 40 who are claiming this.

Now that's bothersome. I only own Massive X, a couple of freebies I don't really care about and just recently upgraded Guitar Rig 6 to 7 because of the split overview panel on the right. It was just 50 bucks...

If all you predict turns out to be true, I really hope that both (MX + GR) receive further support

As someone who has prophesied the end of some things, I think GR is very safe. MX is harder to call, but I reckon it's likely to get OS updates for some time. New feature developments I'd say are 50/50.

Well, the Summer Of Sound this year finally did get me onto Komplete Standard from holding out since Kontakt 2 (I failed slightly, though - got K6->K7 not long ago). For the price, I felt the content was worth it at this point in my musical life.

Indeed. Tis of course the sacred duty of us old gits to complain about 'youth being wasted on the young', 'in my day', blah blah etc etc.

Chuckle. Yup.

"People over 40"...
You mean those with twice the experience of a twenty year old?

I won't agree/disagree in with absolute being used in divisiveness here as I see plenty of hope as well as despair in every generation.

I do feel NI is getting an undeserved break by this though.

They're the sad group here. Not their customers.

Right, that's enough stuff about the difference between the generations in this thread. Can we move on to immigration and economics?
