Sad that FX input not works in Studio One, i guess by DAW design (sidechain not available for instruments here).
Frankly, bought for 35 blindly (Perhaps being excited by Quanta sound lol + tried FRMS long time ago, but quickly, and just remembered that there is much more control here than in Quanta, plus a good reverb. So was sure that can't disappoint.)
As result, as a granular engine, i was not particularly impressed unfortunately. But its FM ability almost compensates for this. Can squeeze out interesting textures.
From various little cons'es:
- activation issue (Studio One 4 at least) - was unable to type user data for log-in inside plug UI, due to keys focus was out to DAW. Helped standalone version for that.
- sample drag'n'drop not works (again, maybe just in SO4). Fortunately there is import button.
- as already said, no FX input in SO4. (I guess this could be implemented thru additional FX dll, for various hosts compatibility).
- optimization. On the first pages user praised this, but i would not say so. (coincidence i7-8700 too, but without K). After load plug starts eat 5% in idle (no sound), and later a bit (after any movements) - permanent 7-8% for idle, even at Default (init) preset, without any loaded sample.
FYI Consumption during work not a little too. May vary from idle value to 30-40% per preset. Depends preset\playing mode. But it's rather just constatation than critic.
- 4mb restriction for sample size.
- (as was mention in thread) envelope's release too short initially. And imo even in alt mode, it would be useful to make longer than 10 sec. Well, such genre direction.
- presenting things that does nothing (SEQ source in mod.matrix)
- lack of modulators (modifiers) param's as targets in mod.matrix (for lfo particularly)
From pros'es:
- FM, good made
- reverb behavior, raw but good
- keyboard\chord mode switch, + both with hold ability
- mod.matrix full automatable, not often can see today.
- ability to redeem license from reseller (WAprod in my case) to official page, and deactivation (in Imaginando account).
UPD Win10 here

So basically they are one of those developers who pump out new products but don’t significantly update their older ones

I asked. They want to port FRMS to VST3 until the end of the year. A couple of their plugins are already ported

They just released their 4th synth in 9 or 10 years, so no, not really.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 10:17 am So basically they are one of those developers who pump out new products but don’t significantly update their older ones
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."
