Super cool would be if the span of chords selected on the MT could be directly dragged out of RC and dropped as a MIDI file.

If dropped on the OS, you could accumulate chordal MIDI files in your directory tree quite specifically and easily that way.

If dropped on another program that accepts MIDI file drops (many do these days) then that would be a practically instant path for chord transfer between the two programs.

All the better if the same drag-and-drop capability were added to Progressions.

you can. Hover the name "master track" and hold down the ctrl-key and drag.

Yes! Thank you.

FWIW, I suggest we surface that in the docs - (p75 in the PDF)
RC - Drag Out Chords as MIDI 01.jpg
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Maybe also add a new tab in the Settings ( e.g. next to 'User Interface' and/or 'Keyboard Shortcuts' ): Mouse Actions, with descriptions of all the available Ctrl-drag, Alt-drag etc. stuff.

Strictly speaking these wouldn't be settings as they are not currently alterable, but the idea is to make the availability discoverable and documented from inside the program.

I find myself constantly "de-viewing" track data when my only intention was to scroll the window. This is because an adult lifetime of computer use has trained me to expect the the un-modified mouse wheel to do exactly that.
Did you know depending what your mouse is hovering changes what is scrolled? In addition to the obvious areas, if you hover the timeline, the composition scrolls horizontally, probably what you were looking for right?

That will be very helpful. Thank you! :)

Will the other behavior be available when holding alt?

Yes, Alt-mousewheel always scrolls the track notes, Ctrl-mousewheel always zooms in the piano roll, while Shift-mousewheel (as before) scrolls horizontally. I am uploading a new beta version with this.

Im going to request keyboard shortcuts for each variation.

Post

FR: Support midi vst with output midi, and render selected phrases to a new track. Chain something like that:
Track phrases > Variations phrases > Variations track > Midi vst > Midi/Audio output

Shortcuts for "Colors notes by ..." selector.

Hi.

Currently, when we are zoomed-in to a portion of the composition we can double-click on the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom to zoom all the way out to see the whole composition. This is great.

At that point, currently, double-clicking again does nothing.

I suggest that double-clicking again take us back to where we were (back to being zoomed-in to a portion of the composition). IOW, zoom would remember it's prior state and allow us to go back to it by double-clicking on the horizontal scroll bar.

Or, to put it another way, zoom would have two states - 1) all the way out, 2) the last zoom used other than all the way out. Double-clicking on the horizontal scroll bar would toggle these two states.
