Often wondered why HY isn't talked about more. They have such complex and well designed plugins!Halma wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2024 4:24 pm HY-MPS3

big change from MPS2 - the deletion of the MOD window reduces the control a bit but on the other hand the simplified architecture and improved interface makes it more usablekillmaster wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2024 7:01 pmOften wondered why HY isn't talked about more. That's exactly the reason. I get fatigued by only looking at the GUI.killmaster wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2024 7:01 pm Often wondered why HY isn't talked about more. They have such complex and well designed plugins!
Too much going on. If I want that kind of deepness, I rather sequence in my DAW.
I love Numerology4 and sometimes Catalyst and most of the time I can get my results by just using an Arpeggiator followed by a note repeater and stuff like that. Or even just a Gate sequencer.
Don't make it too complicated...At least that's my method of working.
BTW Audiomodern Chordjam is also very cool to do stuff with

That´s imho what most developers don´t get... instead of making superduper jack of all trades plugins which achieve already with their GUI to make me nervous they should rather intend to make enjoyable smaller (featurewise) plugins...
That´s what´s imho the secret with Reason´s Player devices... keep it simple and fun...stack them if needed... this way nobody needs to study rocket sience to use them and at the very end it´s more powerful ...

Just to voice the other side: I bought HY-SEQ32 precisely because it does offer so many features, and I find the GUI to be a joy to use. I'd personally peg using numerology as less enjoyable than HY-SEQ32.

I think there's certainly a learning curve but in the end they're extremely efficient ways of sequencing.Septic Underground wrote: Sat Jun 15, 2024 1:23 pmThat's exactly the reason. They may look complicated but in reality they're a lot of fun and easy to use.

Different people, different taste... when I personally look at HY plugins (while I know and accept that they are powerful) I turn immediately round... Thx, but no... I have no interest to dive my way through this mess...
I like better an aproach to have more simple single kind of "modules" but stackable to achieve more complex results like with Reason Players or the system in Bitwig... very powerful but far more manageable than these messed up GUI´s

It really isn't complicated, you just haven't learned it.Trancit wrote: Sun Jun 16, 2024 6:50 am Different people, different taste... when I personally look at HY plugins (while I know and accept that they are powerful) I turn immediately round... Everything is going to look confusing until you learn to use it.
I'm sure there was a time when you looked at Reason or Bitwig and hadn't a clue how to use it.
There is no "mess" and it's not a "jack of all trades" plugin at all. It's a very specific sequencer/arp plugin.
It's just very detailed.
It took me all of ten minutes to understand it and it all makes complete sense.
It's a very elegant approach, imho.
I have any number of sequencers and arps and I use them all regularly because I think the different approaches inspire different things.

Nope... I found DAWs like Bitwig and Ableton (even FLS) very intuitive from the first moment and was able to find my way without any hassle...kraster wrote: Sun Jun 16, 2024 5:22 pm Everything is going to look confusing until you learn to use it.

Learning just started when you dig deeper...
And that´s the problem for me... for me it´s far too detailed... but I am no fan of step sequencers anyway and have no use for them...It's just very detailed.
