Whats the simplest layout VST synth with biggest palette of sounds for beginners?

Invader 2 or Polymax would be my choices. Simple one-page synths that sound great. There's always the Juno 60/106 clones but having a 2nd oscillator plus ringmod, FM and sync makes all the difference.

Check this out it’ll help you understand synthesizers. The knowledge can then be applied to almost any subtractive synthesizer as the all work pretty much the same way

After that I’d recommend getting a few free ones to mess around with before spending any money. Here’s a few that are simple enough. I’d recommend Vital most because while it may look complicated it’s actually very easy to use and learn with because it shows you the shapes of oscillators, filters,LFO’s etc.

Agree with the above posters who said, GR-8 and Polymax. Both are quite easy to get into.

I often find people recommend a synth with a mod matrix or destinations, but to really go to the beginning I find it best to minimize that and just focus on the oscillator, amp, filter and lfo settings.

Zebralette 3 ?

All mentioned have too many controls. Only 2 would fit to the op‘s question. One is Rand, a synth with only one button, the other is MPS from Fullbucket… Both free…
Rand was featured in a One Synth Challenge…
You can see Rand in action…
