Let's help those victims who have suffered this horrible tragedy. I just donated to the Red Cross and I encourage you all to do the same.
www.redcross.org
It's very easy and quick to do. Click on disaster services on the left and then "donate now". Choose Donate On Line and then select "International Response Fund", fill out your CC info and you're done.
Anyone who donates $100 or more can get a gift from Sonic Reality for doing it (just email us a screen shot of the red cross receipt). I know money can be tight for some around here but if you were going to get some sounds anyway then perhaps you can use some of that money to give to THEM and we'll give you a break on our sounds in ePointz or a free Holiday Capsule or something. Whatever it takes, we should all chip in. This disaster is huge and if any of us were in a situation like that we would hope that other people around the world would care enough to help out. Imagine.
Red cross will let you donate as little as $5. So please do something. You'll feel good about it.

Good man, Squids. This is quite generous of you.
If I may, I'd like to add that anyone can also make a donation through Paypal (www.paypal.com), which goes to UNICEF. Just click on the link that says "Tsunami Relief". (This is especially convenient if you're already set up with Paypal, and want to pay out of your checking account).

Great call Squids. I would not have donated until reading your post - your desired impact = achieved.

Actualy, I already donated for you and deducted from your pay. Just kidding! But, I did donate from both the company and myself personally (just didn't deduct from anyone's pay... except "shippin' T" of course
for every ST2 LE he forgets to put in someone's box $5 goes to charity out of his pocket!... kidding again).
On a serious note, I think it's great if people just do it. It really isn't hard to donate on www.redcross.org Even if you're not one to do that sort of thing, this would be an occassion to.

Squids, this is very cool of you to step up and show leadership on this issue. Thanks. I for one will be donating. I encourage others to as well.

That's a great idea, watching the news tonight was just horrific, some of the most disturbing things I've seen since this didaster occured.
And, just to bring it back to a crass level, do you accept digital pics of reciepts??? (for donations made earlier, not made online...)

Yes, sure. Whatever it takes to help. A natural disaster can happen to any of us no matter who we are, what our nationality is, color, religeon... at any moment a giant tidal wave, earthquake or meteor could smash down and change thousands of lives instantly. Someone standing next to you one moment could be swept away the next. We don't think it could happen but it can, it has and these completely innocent people need the rest of the world's help. That includes us musicians too. Even if everyone on KVR donated $5 each that would be something. It all counts and it can mean something on multiple levels too.
Anyway, if you were in that situation you would hope that people cared enough to donate because by the time the relief effort got to you and saved your family you would be so incredibly grateful. Sometimes we forget how fragile we really are. We need drinkable water and food or we dont last too long.
Sorry if that sounds like a guilt trip. I don't mean it that way and I don't like when people do that either. I am just talking real here. Perhaps you too will see that we all have to do our part. We can't fix all of the world's problems but we CAN simply donate some money for international disaster relief when a Tsunami wipes out over a hundred thousand peopole instantly. This is my opinion. Sorry for being a little preachy.

you don't need to apologise, some things are worth preaching about.
lots of people will have donated already, lots I suppose wont, or maybe can't, and there will be some who think they should, or might, and this will probably make them actually do it, so its a good thing.

Canadians (might work for non-Canadians too, dunno how this sort of thing works), go to http://www.redcross.ca, and the government of Canada will match your donation.

I've already donated $50 to the red cross and a local Swedish org. To think I could have gotten my greedy little mittens on ePointz for it.
Seriously, thanks for doing this Squids!
Let's hope we can keep it up also. Because they'll need help for a long time. The development in some of these countries have been thrown back 15 years.

Hi squids,
great thing you do here.
one question,
is it ok to donate also to other organisations?
I donated yesterday to a big germany one, called "world vision".
It stands in one line with the red cross and some other big organisations, and helps mostly children.
Keep up this good work.
And dont forget the KVR-CD:
info here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0
can be ordered here:
http://www.glooped.com/AsiaCD/
various KvR-musicians contributed tracks for this CD and every penny raised by the CD will go to help the tsunami victims.
Thanks to everyone who helps
