SpectraLayers 11 releases on June 19th:

great...some very positive comments on the cubase forum, (mainly based on this video) about this upgrade !

Looks like a very worthy upgrade. Especially compared to what Izotope is doing with RX. Who could have imagined that actually making meaningful improvements to your product each year and charging fair upgrades could result in positive buzz on the internet?* It's crazy!

*Looking at you Izotope, Synchro Arts, Antares and others.

I have not paid for an RX Advanced upgrade since 9. I received a free upgrade to 10 Standard. I didn't even consider updating even to 11 Standard. It is ludicrous what they charge for an Advanced upgrade for how little you are getting.

SpectraLayers, on the other hand, is steadily providing the missing pieces that RX has, with significant (in both quantity and quality) new features and improvements, with an excellent upgrade price. With these new vocal isolation algorithms, and (finally!) batch processing, I will be uninstalling RX and never looking back.

Yeah, must be a really great update indeed if even Dom gets enthusiastic about it... :hihi:

just tested the unmix function at the most demanding level : very long time for calculation on my M1 MacBook Air, but the result is stunning...

...I feel I'm a lucky guy, just bought it last week at a crossgrade discount for about 115 Swiss francs, ...then the free update to version 11 !!!!!

 :tu:

Feeling happy I was able to resist the expensive upgrade to iZotope RX 11 and pickup the SpectraLayers 11 Pro upgrade instead for $67.99.

A laudable thing Steinberg has done with their recent sale on Spectralayers 10 and the upgrade to 11 tacked on as well!

The $67.99 price is good until June 30. After that, (I assume) it goes up to $79.99.

This release is a win all around. The UI and workflow changes alone almost make it worth $68 (or even $80 when the sale is over). They have been making steady workflow improvements the last few releases, and it shows.

I did some testing with the new Vocal Denoise on some old muffled recordings from the 70s with a lot of furnace rumble in the background, and it is very impressive. It eliminated the noise without distorting the speech. I followed that with sonible smartEQ4 using it's Vocal High algorithm, and some gain, and the "muffle" is gone. What was a noisy muffled recording is almost crystal clear. I'm blown away by the before-after. These new AI processing techniques are brining new life to old material.
