This is a somber journey into parts unknown. Pack wisely as the weather forecast is mostly dark, grey and overcast with a very brief smattering of brighter chords. The terrain that is visible in the mist is barren and rocky. There is no guarantee of safety here and it's easy to lose your bearings. Even if you somehow manage to get cell coverage, Google Maps would show no detail -- just a vast region of grey. You really are on your own.
The mix is excellent. Good work.

I really enjoyed the soundtracks that Angelo made for the Lynch Films, but Twin Peaks was my favourite. Falling was a great song, and even made it into the UK singles charts.justin3am wrote: Mon May 20, 2024 8:49 pm Excellent work. Parts around the 3min mark reminded me of Laura Palmer's theme from Twin Peaks.
Loved the understated rhythmic elements and as always the sounds are top notch and sit very well together.

When Lost Highway came out, there was some kind of behind-the-scenes on TV, in which Badalamenti and Lynch experimented with strange mic placements, using tubes and drums as resonance chambers. I was only 14 or 15 when I saw it, so I may have that all wrong but it was a formative memory, none the less.seismic1 wrote: Sat Jun 01, 2024 12:17 am

Great description, Frantz. It manages to describe my feelings about things in general at the tail-end of 2020 with uncanny accuracy. At that time, I was hoping that things would soon improve. My timeframe may have been optimistic.Frantz wrote: Tue May 28, 2024 4:18 am This is a somber journey into parts unknown. Yes. It sounds great through it and has plenty of grunt to compete with our drummer!

Impressively cohesive given the variety of sounds. The track didn't leave me with a feeling of gloom. The pads and guitars are meditative. The bassline that comes in around 5:00 and the drone at 7:30 are sinister. Overall, a very enjoyable listen. Thanks for sharing.

I remember this one
Oh, and just 2 or 3 years to complete. Careful now, it doesn't pay to rush these things

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

I had a look around on the web, but wasn't able to find it. It's a pity. That would have been an interesting (and fun) watch.justin3am wrote: Sat Jun 01, 2024 1:45 amWhen Lost Highway came out, there was some kind of behind-the-scenes on TV, in which Badalamenti and Lynch experimented with strange mic placements, using tubes and drums as resonance chambers. You might have problems competing with this, if Paul gets hold of itAllomerus wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 1:14 amYes. It sounds great through it and has plenty of grunt to compete with our drummer!

My reference to gloom was probably influenced by my general state of mind in 2020. I remember being quite unhappy when I put most of this track together, but I do love a sinister basslineGenetic_Junk wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 2:36 pm Impressively cohesive given the variety of sounds. The guitar sound on here was Chromaphone2 fed into Things Texture.

Dig the tuned percussion transitioning into the first guitar section. Really like the minimal part that starts around 5:08. The first bass stab in there felt very satisfying:)
