Tim Petherick's Surge and Tube-Tech EQ's for Nebula are some of my favourites. Also really rate Acustica's Opal but it's pretty clean.

I love great plugins but I'm working on curbing my GAS addiction.
It's too easy to fall in the rabbit hole of fancy vintage GUIs and "flavour plugins"
Most of my EQing is done with the free TDR Nova. Sometimes use the EQ1979, also free.
I have a bunch of other ones too like the channel strips on the cool IK Mixbox.
Cut GAS ... Find what works for you to actually make music, stop there!

I like how its really gradual sounding. You slowly notice boosts and cuts. Its not a dramatic "woah that just got a lot of low or high end" with a movement of the dials. The opposite of the PSP E27.
I call it a musical flavor eq. It makes my anal brain let loose of needing to control frequencies down to the smallest detail. Plus it can sound really good when it fits.
Ive used it on vocals, guitars and master bus.

Stock EQ + something like FF ProQ3 are workhorses that will cover just about everything you would actually ever need but... if you want "character", the AA Salt EQ is 3 shades of classic curves + saturation. https://www.acustica-audio.com/shop/products/SALT
...
missing the Pultec curves (something the Lindell TE-100 offers) but plenty of options for that, including free.

Nomad Factory Pulse-Tec EQs v2. Very underrated alternative to many Pultec plugins and sounds great too. Also really cheap (it was $19 at one point) and is really pleasant to use.
The biggest suprise of the year is how amazing new Nomad Factory stuff is. Great, substantive updates with clearly laid out change-logs and good quality for the money.

Thats the next one I might try from that Developer, as the Sweet Spot EQ was already pretty impressive.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

I have had this forever and only just discovered it does parallel filtering - makes a great eq even better

it is great, i will make a curve (some gentle comb filter for example) and assign slow lfo to it for some movement, i use it all the timesandandpaint wrote: Sat Jun 22, 2024 12:53 pmI have had this forever and only just discovered it does parallel filtering - makes a great eq even better

same - the modulation is so flexible and easy to use. And now I can have parallel band pass and modulate them, which is something I have wanted for a long timemartiu wrote: Sat Jun 22, 2024 1:11 pmit is great, i will make a curve (some gentle comb filter for example) and assign slow lfo to it for some movement, i use it all the timesandandpaint wrote: Sat Jun 22, 2024 12:53 pmI have had this forever and only just discovered it does parallel filtering - makes a great eq even better

Don’t forget to mention that 99% of "analog" EQ’s are just curves. Check in the plugin doctor if you don't believe it. The rest 1% clearly has color buttons and knobs (like Pulsar Massive).
So, all we buy are curves. But that’s okay because sometimes you want “that sound” mostly because of them
