SoftStep:
Dynamic MIDI control at your feet.

* Software Control: control effects, looping, sample triggering, and more
* Studio Application: control punch-in, panning, levels, and transport functions
* Standalone Mode: use the SoftStep without a computer to control your MIDI synth and/or rack with the SoftStep MIDI Expander (sold separately)
* Beyond Sound: control lighting effects, video, robotics, pyrotechnics, and more.

5 degrees of continuous control for each pad:
X- and Y- axis, Clockwise Rotation, Counter-Clockwise Rotation and Pressure. These control sources are mappable to any MIDI or OSC destination.

The SoftStep application works with the SoftStep hardware controller to manipulate sensor data for finely tailored control. These modified control sources are mappable to any MIDI or OSC destination, giving the player unlimited potential for creative expression.

Sorry to bump but I wonder what this would be like? I have stutter edit for example.........

interested in reaper, x64, various amp sims mostly.

It's great. You can map it to do just about anything - in all axis.

I got curious so I had to google it, thought I might share...the plural of axis is axes pronounced ack-sees
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

It's 2024 and the softstep editor is still crashing whenever it wants to.
Also, no Ken Mcmillen forum anywhere to ask and understand!

Paying 440 bucks for no support willing to answer my questions?
Get a softstep.

Still wondering how brainless it is to invest in a unit for rig-gear to run with and without a PC:
The SS Editor's rund whether in hosted mode or standalone mode. But the presets programmed can run in both states. So, I have to program it tediously twice?
while the Editor crashes in the middle time after time??

After three tries (including the softstep) I avoid the KeithMcmillan stuff. Always half assed. And the softstep always seemed to have been designed for people with elf feet.
