That's not new it's the same synth they have had for years sold in a bundle with a bunch of preset packs that have also been available for years
tbh I find that video to be extremely triggering. Its like "hahaha we have nothing new, heres some random preset packs for a boring asf synth mohohahaa, UP YOURS".
am i wrong?

From my perspective, you are not wrong. These videos (I subscribe to their channel) actually infuriate me. I've said it before, I'll say it again: I get *really* frustrated that they keep touting "new instruments" when what they mean are "new packaged deals" and "new libraries." I understand the demands of grumpy old Roland fans like us on KvR aren't their target audience; there's a sea of naive new customers to fleece, and that's where the real money's to be made. I get it. Business models, maximizing profits. Business as usual. I get it. But I don't like it.

I'm happy to hear that RC will "add things" this year, but I have exactly zero faith that it will be new synths and not just repackaging of existing RC products plus some presets. Not interested.

Ooooh: one exception. I would actually like to see general UI Improvements across the range of synths. There's plenty of room for improvement, and I would certainly appreciate it. :)

But I continue to hope! There's a litany of old synths yet to be modeled, most of which I would prrrrrobably buy, and there's even some modern synths that are begging to be ported to VSTs. I am getting really, really frustrated by the delays, but I have yet to actually "give up." So please do wake me up when there are actually some bona fide synths added to RC to check out, though!

But we ARE their target audience. People like us are the only ones with a deep nostalgia for Roland's instruments from back in the day

If all you want is a Jupiter 8 or a Juno plugin you can get that from many sources. Same with a 303 and there are all kinds of 808 and 909 samples out there

There are not very many people out there besides people like us clamoring for a D50, or an XV5080

When I subscribed to the Ultimate Package I had the Jupiter 8 and Junos installed yet I always used the Arturia versions as they sounded just as good to me and they used far less CPU

I just don't see very many newbees subscribing to the Roland Cloud or wanting to own the instruments in either hardware or software without the nostalgia for them from back in the day

Ultimately I think Roland is stuck, for a decade or more now they have been focused on Gen X nostalgia. The Jupiter 80, Integra 7, ACB, and Zenology (and I have owned all of them in hardware and of course used the software) don't really work from a sales perspective without Gen X nostalgia. The problem Roland is facing is you can only go to the Gen X nostalgia well so many times before it runs dry and here we are

The people that post here and share their disappointment with Roland Cloud represent the most loyal and lucrative customers they could possibly have

Yet we are not treated that way

Yeah, those are the only two lifetime keys I bought.

I can only hope they'll eventually tap out of Gen X Nostalgia and go for Millennial -- because I'm been requesting a JD990, JP8080, and V-Synth since 2017 haha.

I don't have any Roland hardware synths, but I received an email about this today:
https://www.roland.com/global/products/ ... d_connect/

I'm confused though, as it seems the Youtube video is from 2 years ago (?)

"Roland Cloud Connect"
So when do you think "Roland Cloud Connect Platinum" (or some equivalent rebrand shmooz) will be rolling out?
This feels like history rhyming or repeating itself...

This company is really starting to piss me off.

I can't login to the stupid RCM. It doesn't matter if I login via Firefox.
I can't make out a ticket because there are no items to choose from in the drop-down menu on their stupid website form.

I spent a bloody fortune buying many of their plugins outright.
I spent quite a bit on expansion packs (presets) and 100 ZEN-Core expansions.

The stupid Windows Roland SOUND Canvas VA installs to a location my Live 10 is unable to see. It is still not VST3.

I am concerned about a new app taking the place of RCM and therefore wiping out any purchases I made previously.

I don't know. The RCM has been working fine for a long time. I'm assuming the problem is with a changeover to the new system maybe.

Amen to that. Jp and v synth is the only reason I still care about Roland.

I agree, they almost skipped Millennials completely ( besides XV-5080, JD-800, D-50 and Sound Canvas VA, but Sound Canvas VA is unusable on Mac, it crashes 99% of the time ) Their synths are for Generation X and Sound Packs are for Generation Z.

I got D-50 and XV-5080 for life and want to get Sound Canvas VA and Zenology, Zenology has some sounds for us, But I'm not sure which ones are included in the Core subscription.
I like the EPs in the "PRST_E XV Collection" which is inkuded in Ultimate, curently trying teh Free Zenology Version but only PRST_A is included in the free one. Theres no info which Preset banks are included in the Core and Pro.

Hey Shiek927! These are very common requests and it's only likely that eventually they get ACB emulations. I log these requests every week and I believe the JP-8080/8000 is the most requested instrument over the past couple years. As for the JD-990, we did release a sound pack recently called Cult Of 990 for ZENOLOGY that pays homage to some classic JD-990 patches if you want to check that out.

Hey Aloysius. Sorry to hear this has been your experience. If you don't mind I'll send you a DM and we can try and figure out what is going on. Your instruments are safe, any purchase you made is in our system and we've never had an instance of someone losing the instruments they purchased.

I hear you TS-12. We are very aware about the issues regarding Sound Canvas and are looking into them. It is our oldest instrument.
