Hey, does anyone know a plugin that can do this gritty feedback distortion like this ?

I'm looking for something that comes pretty close to it! Reaktor or Max for live ideas are also welcome! Thanks

This is a tough one for sure, you might end up with something Gimmicky of that Grit thing but maybe not much more. Try Ohmicide, yet even here the Hardware will get you nearer to that Sound.

Maybe also try Predatohm:

You might be able to get close with Saturn and it's feedback component, or maybe some DAC emulator, or something along the lines of Ghz Lossy since it's based on an overdriven headphone amp. This might take a combination of plugins, something like Polyverse's Filterverse might add to it as well.

*I really need to pick that module up one of these days, his stuff is super cool...

*The Grater from Yum Audio is also a candidate imo, for a distortion plugin. There
is a free version, though the full version is the way to go...

is itb digital able to feedback in this way ?

i doubt it.
(but that´s just an uneducated guess)

I suppose feedback could be modeled in a specific circuit using (insert hypothetical fancy DSP algorithm that I don't know) but if you patch feedback yourself there's going to be latency in it, which affects things. It may be useful but not quite like hardware.

(The kind of feedback patching where you intentionally have a reverb or delay in it can work pretty great in software, though.)

Reminds me of Hainbach's stuff.

The truth of the matter is that DSP still sucks for instantaneous feedback if it aint accounted for in the whole model e.g "ZDF"filters etc. you always need at the very least 1 sample of latency to perform any kind of feedback ITB, and sometimes more if its reliant on buffers (delay equal to the buffer size of your current audio interface driver settings)you can't blag this or math your way around it either. if you want this kind of feedback, nothing ITB is going to deliver it unless its been designed to do so

I don't know of anything ITB currently that sounds like that, but i know Bazille allows for some analog-esque feedback stuff, and the feedback input modelling on the UAD Minimoog is really good(personally think it leaves all the rest of them in the dust). not an effect i know. i don't know of any effects that are capable of stuff like this without caveats (comb filtering and other non-desirable artefacts). you might like The Drop and its wasp filter modelling as well

The only person that can model something like this is Andy from Cytomic so basically there is no plugin like this.

You can build your own ZDF filters in Reaktor using the ZDF toolkit. Not sure it would sound like that but I’m sure it would sound pretty badass. If you’ve got Reaktor it’s worth having a look for filters in the user library if you can’t be bothered to build your own.

I was looking at the block diagram divkid posted in his video.

as already mentioned: fabfilter saturn (has feedback and dynamics)

and arturia filter ms-20 (feedback via high peak positions, dynaics via env follower)
