of course why not just do the whole JD990 you are 90% there with the JD800.

they had a whole set of 990 patches in a thing called Concerto. They promoted it heavily as a free giveaway for about a year. Then with no warning they disabled it after many (including me) had made hundreds of patches using it. I remember thinking that was one of Roland's more Apple moments.

That was sample based however it wasn't the synth engine from the JD990

They did mention it was to going away at a certain point (so there was warning). It still works. I have it and installed it again recently.

Hey Aloysius. Sorry to hear this has been your experience. If you don't mind I'll send you a DM and we can try and figure out what is going on. Your instruments are safe, any purchase you made is in our system and we've never had an instance of someone losing the instruments they purchased.
I replied to your PM.
Thank you for your reassurance about the instruments.

I'm confused though, as it seems the Youtube video is from 2 years ago (?)

So now you're going to have to be online for your Roland hardware to work, too!
Neat! :tu:
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

In order to login I had to uninstall RCM and reinstall it. Thanks Jon @ Roland for your help.

Please bring iLok to Roland Cloud. It's not the best option but it's still something many are willing to accept. Do it at least for the people buying permanent licenses. Your software is protected and you gain more users. Win-win.

i doubt that, they need to pay a license or something i guess? i also doubt that they didnt think/planned this before and want to bind you through their ecosystem to their cloudsystem to get you more products sold by them etc.

You don't need the dongle and you can install the lifetime keys without it.
It needs to Authorize the first time you install anything but after that you are good to go with no more authorization requests and your hw can be offline after that.

If you are a subscriber and don't have any lifetime keys you have to re-authorize after you have turned it on and off 30 times..

I don't want Ilok but with their HW you only have to authorize your lifetime keys the first time you install it and after that it is authorized forever.

Wonder why they don't do the same with the Cloud app for the Software versions since it is the same copy protection so they could turn off the 30 day timer.

It used to be 7 days then they Changed it to 30 days after lot of complaints.

Hey Jamcat! Roland Cloud connect just gives people the chance to try out patches and sounds and download them into hardware directly instead of using a computer. Its essentially the closest we have to a hardware version of Roland Cloud. It has nothing to do with making the hardware function or not function, just gives people the option have more sounds for most ZEN-core instruments.
