Pulling up Free plugins

I did find that racks and piles of hardware was impressive to clients. It wasn't impressive enough to me to keep it taking up room and electricity. I generally spend most sessions I book for tracking and mixing explaining software (free and paid) to clients. I'd be amazed if any of them or any of my other clients of any kind ever had any concerns about the cost of any software. With the singular exception that I've had jobs where the deliverables were required to be protools sessions (all fx printed) for compatibility during further production.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Yes ... well maybe one day you'll acquire such maturity and confidence in your abilities that you are not posting such sophomoric questions on forums.Dwomoh wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 5:52 amWow, matured stuffkidslow wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 11:10 pm Now that I'm all grown up, I realize it's 100% in whether you own those types of situations, be they brown zips ... or free plugins. My point was mostly that only people that are already recording themselves would know anything about plugins. It's really something that's on a need-to-know basis. And if your client is a fledgling recordist, then they already must think you know something they don't, or they wouldn't be coming to you in the first place.Dwomoh wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 5:49 amIt's possible man, I met people who know about production softwares and even popular plugins and know about some free stuffs but have no clue how to mix or master. It's a skill man.jamcat wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 1:40 am If the client knew anything at all about plugins, they'd be doing it themself.
But most people you would have in your studio don't know shit about f**k.
Many years ago, Rosie O'Donnell had a daytime talk show. Apparently she had recorded an album, and was talking about it on her show. She said "they have this machine called Pro Tools that makes you sing like Barbra Streisand!"
So yeah, that's the kind of mental wizard you'd normally be dealing with.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

An idiot on Set Theory:
