When it comes to external plugins, Zebra2.
I might perhaps be using older ones, but being dumb enough to be a Logic user, you're cut off from them regularly, unless some company such as U-He really cares about their customers.
The oldest virtual instruments I'm still using in general and pretty much every day (hence including what comes with Logic) are Logic's Sampler (aka EXS24) and Vintage Electric Piano (aka EVP88).

It could be FL Simsynth, but I really don't consider it Simsynth. People who know Simsynth know what i speak of.

I miss Wizoo. They were so innovative. Great reverb lost to time.

Synth 1 and sq8l are the oldest ones on my hardrive and I still use them on a regular basis .
Sq8l because is sounds glorious , synth 1 because it's so immediate and still sounds pretty great .
I think these 2 really deserve top spots in the pantheon of best ever freeware

+1 to both of these (FM8 & Massive). Having gotten the Maschine+, I’m now rediscovering these gems. One of the advantages of getting an old synth is that there are literally tens of thousands of presets, tutorials, walkthrough/sound design tutorials, most bugs are either squashed or decent workarounds exist, and they are pretty efficient. Are there more capable synths with better, more up to date FX? Sure, but with complexity and advancements, I sometimes struggle getting some of the newer stuff to sit in the mix.ChanceB wrote: Mon May 27, 2024 5:11 am Crystal,Massive,FM8.I don’t know which is older.I have Waves Multi Tap Delay which I think is from the late 90s but I don’t use it

A.C.E., but it is still supported.
I have massive installed but rarely use it.

Alchemy 1 sometimes. I dropped hundreds on it and some expansions a few weeks before the fall, excited at the time about pending v2.

In addition to Delay Lama, Triangle II (2002) still gets play from time to time. Linplug RMV (2008). Rapture (2006) still gets used. Every once in a while I might try Ugo's Ironhead (2006).
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
