Honestly, that’s a quality we should be imparting on all budding songwriters. Just trust the process and release whatever comes out of you. If it’s too cringe, use a pseudonym.

I disagree. I think the tendency to become lame as you get famous is at least partially due to the fact that you no longer have people around you who you can trust to say, “Todd, that’s some lame crap.”

Of course, I’m sure he’s comfortable with his never ending royalties, and needs no advice.
