+1 for GRM Tools. Zynaptiq also has some really cool effects that are very useful for sound design duties like Morph 3 Pro, Pitchmap, Wormhole and Orange Vocoder IV.
Minimal Audio have some powerful effects like Rift 2 to check out also. If you’re into granular, I would suggest Output’s Portal and accSones’s crusher-X.
We’re all very lucky to have so many incredible choices to pick from. It’s a great time to be alive and to be creating music!!

And I got Guitar Rig, so I'll check it out as well. I agree, I think I am pretty set. I am just a sucker for a good delay, and I still find there are some reverbs that are worthy and different enough from what I have to want to have (most notable the TC VSS4 algo, which sounds like nothing else I've ever used, and really enjoy. I just don't want to invest too much into TC after they never upgraded to 64 bits for PowerCore, then totally abandoned the platform, yet UAD is still going strong.)zerocrossing wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 3:14 amYou seem set to me, though something like Guitar Rig can be a great multieffects processor for modular style effects chains. Planning on grabbing the Valhalla stuff as well shortly. Also patiently waiting for Relab VSR Rev6000. Used to own a TC Reverb 4000, but the ticking timebomb of the power supply turned me off, and sold it. Most transparent reverb I've ever owned; loved it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll go check that out.ramseysounds wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:52 pm Sounds like you’re a collector rather than a music maker![]()

I'm really only interested in effects that bring something different to the table than I already have. Things do evolve, and I like keeping up with the times too. Otherwise I'd still be on my Alesis Q2, Yamaha FX-550, and Line6 Pod 2.0, all of which are garbage compared to what's available now. Certainly liked them at the time.Fannon wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 4:15 pm Sounds to me like the OP already has almost everything you could need![]()
Actually more than you could realistically master.
Imho: I try to use less plugins and instead learn to better understand and use those I have.

Sure, makes sense. Try that UAD Lexicon 224 setting, anyway, since I'm guessing you already own it. It gets surprisingly close to the Reverb 4000 sound.DevonB wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 2:47 am After TC dumped the PowerCore and never did 64 bit plugins, I've been gun shy in investing another dime into them.

I’m the same, though I mostly use my UAD for preamps, compressors and some saturation. Occasionally some modulation effects and reverb, but mostly when I’m just jamming around with my hardware synths. I should probably upgrade my old Apollo FireWire interface, but it mostly serves me well.DevonB wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 1:34 amAnd I got Guitar Rig, so I'll check it out as well. I could go on all day about all the effects plugins that I have. I’ll often buy one just because I like to discover new ways of working. Most of the time, I end up using pretty simple plugins for my music projects, but having creative effects is invaluable for my SFX work. I keep think that “I’m set,” but someone will come out with something new and exciting and I’m just a sucker for that kind of thing.

I'm really trying to remain 'consolidated' with what I have; Eventide and SoundToys for variety of delays and top quality processing, Izotope for mastering, Exponential Audio for reverbs, UAD for variety of 'vintage' emulations, and want to get Valhalla for a little more comprehensive collection of emulation of vintage delays and reverbs. Quite frankly, even the plugins that come with Cubase are mostly good enough to get the job done these days. Just hadn't researched much what is new over the past few years, and it doesn't really look like I've missed much of anything in effects. But I will check out most of these suggestions people have put forth if they are in the multi-effects category like Infiltrate 2 or more unique reverb/delay plugins. Rather spend $69 on a M7 emulation that's "close enough" than 4-5 grand for a reverb unit. That is, only if I think it's unique enough compared to what I already have. Native reverbs have come a LONG ways in the last 20 years.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 6:43 pmI’m the same, though I mostly use my UAD for preamps, compressors and some saturation. SSL X-Delay is a good one. It regularly goes on sale for around $25. D16 Sigmund 2 is also excellent and is currently on sale.

Although it's a bit expensive, I feel compelled to mention Boom Library's Enrage multi-effect. I use it a lot for creative special effects. It has a very intuitive layout and comes with over 50 devices (effect modules) to combine for highly-detailed and complex processing. I think it belongs in any "must have" or "secret weapon" plug-in list. https://www.boomlibrary.com/sound-effects/enrage/

crusher-X for granular - a lifetime of exploring with that one, Shade and Apqualizr for EQ, Late Replies for delay (but there are others) PassBOT for a filter, Filter Organ is a gem, Effecxt Grid very useful to break your signal into components - in a totally different way Factoid breaks it up, sloom also. TONSTURM make some neat stuff, as do K-devices

Not sure what ur def of a 'mangler' is, but Arturia has some rather unique and interesting 'processors'. Fragments/Motions/Refract, along with their takes on delays, modulations, etc. Been using them to enhance 'organically tracked' performances (i.e. no synths/loops/AI whatever, just people playing things that don't need computers, or even much electricity.)DevonB wrote: Thu Jul 04, 2024 2:49 pm I'm mainly interested in delays and multi-effects processors.
Not interested in ... 'manglers'.
and ya, despite what i just said, have used HW boxes (synths...) with A/D convertors in the past to process original samples through whatever sound design/processing capabilities they could offer.
