For absolutely and positively no particular reason, can I just say that I find Future Music mag from Future Publishing to be absolutely and positively the best Music mag there is..

what, pray tell, would be most interesting on page 16? (for those who are too lazy to go to a bookstore)

Some of the things I like about FM are the rating sytem (separate scores for sound quality and 4 other parameters), and the Alternative box.

Kudos to CM for their blind monitor test though.
edit: oops, that was FM too!

Yes the article on Absynth 3 on page 16 was very informative and it was nice of them to recommend Lazysnake, Subduer, Foorious and Anamark - did I miss somebody out.

Thanks for the heads up, I just bought the magazine. They even misspelled my name, awesome
So from now on I'm KVR user Makjen, not Majken. Ok?.. Heh..
Nice to see SE plugs being mentioned!

Yeah its a great mag, don't usually buy it though, but page 71 of the January issue is particularly good...
But seriously I was impressed with the mag, it appeals more to me than SOS or CM... SOS is a bit 'pro' for me, and CM just doesnt do it for me as much as FM does, no particluar reason why. Still got a good pile of them all in my room though. Great for hiding shuffle mags in between

I'd imagine at least one person at each of the mags must keep an ear on the KvR ground....Chase wrote:I wonder if anyone from the mag hangs out on KVR...

As a regular reader of FM, SOS, CM and Music Tech magazines, I have to say I agree. I'm in the US and have LONG since dispaired at the lousy quality of the US electronic music press. I find that FM has marginally, but consistently, better reviews than all the others with SOS coming in a close second as far as detail and review quality. CM and Music Tech, both dedicating more landscape to How To's, don't do as thorough a job but are usually worth a look for a second/third opinion. Sometimes hard to find these in the US, and they're always late to arrive, but I can usually find 2 or 3 of them each month. Porn for music geeks is what I call them. And I love porn!

Yup, they're just like porn. After all, you can go to a store and buy the stuff like some people, or you can go online and find even more stuff completely for free.

up the krakli soft!
anyway the drum styles thing is sweet enough.
oh, and also the houseware samples, cool.
Gabriel interview was a bit blahblah, though.
