The installation instructions provided only talk about a standalone installer exe...so I wonder which it is? That's really frustrating.Alchemedia wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 11:24 pmCool tip, however, this is a major buzz kill...IvyBirds wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 11:17 pm
If you take the Arturia Synclavier V, use the sampler engine, and run it at 24 bits instead of the default 8 bits. You get very clean sample playback with some artifacts as it has to stretch and pinch the samples for pitch
Then if you run the output through the RX950 plugin ($10 at P.B.) you get a sound very very similar to the early Akai Samplers. So close it's uncanny
The RX950 emulates the input A/D, filters, and output DAC of the Akai S950 when paired with the Synclavier at 24 bits it's loads of fun
Re: RX950: "This software can only be installed and run via the Beatport Access portal and an internet connection is required at all times."
How about D16 Decimort?

I think that's only if you buy it through Beatport - the main inphonik page has a normal purchase option - https://www.inphonik.com/products/rx950 ... converter/Alchemedia wrote: Thu Jun 20, 2024 11:24 pm Cool tip, however, this is a major buzz kill...

I have their SP1200 plugin (though I don't use it as often as I should since I also have a S2400), it's very good.
For a similar option there is TAL-DAC - no S950 but S1000 and a lot of options to shape it as you wish.

Oh, just looked through my e-mails - got one about this specifically from pluginboutique:
"Dear Inphonik RX1200 and RX950 owners,
We're pleased to announce a new update that provides added flexibility for using your plugins. You now have the option to use your plugins without needing Beatport Access.
For those who prefer not to use Beatport Access, simply re-download the new perpetual version from your account area, and you'll be able to use it seamlessly without any additional steps.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback, which inspire us to innovate and improve our offerings."

Arturia is usually on an 18th month release cycle. Meaning we will see V Collection 11 in about a yearmartinjuenke wrote: Fri Jun 21, 2024 11:09 am I expect release date in September.

They will however have if the follow the same cycle a blowout Black Friday sale where upgrades for everyone to version 11 are just $199
I fully expect the big feature set of Version 11 will be MIDI 2.0, and Arturia will release refreshed hardware controllers that support it at the same time
They just need Microsoft to finish their work with MIDI 2.0 and Windows 11

It will have to be something more interesting than a Minibrute software emulation to entice me to buy. More “Augmented” series is NOT the thing. More emulations of vintage mono-synths are not the thing. I just don’t know. I think Pigments and the Minifreak are their most interesting things. I find the Minifreak HW more interesting than the Polybrute 12. I don’t want to diminish the PB12, but I just think the hybrid Minifreak is more interesting. If they made it into a 12-voice thing I would buy it, but the plugin that came with my HW is damn good already.
The new FX collection additions are totally uninteresting to me. Maybe if I was a pro mastering engineer I would consider it, but I am just a hobbyist.

The only really interesting thing of late was the Lexicon Reverb but you could buy that independently when it came out on the cheap
For someone who doesn't already have it or is maybe on version 1 it's a nice upgrade however

I've been saying I want a theremin in V Collection for years.
And a JX-8P
I won't be updating until at least one of those appears.

I'm no longer interested in updating their collections (to hell with Augmented) but might consider individual instruments.jamcat wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 3:14 am I've been saying I want a theremin in V Collection for years.

I pretty much think the same way. But it's so easy to get sucked in to "yes, but if I buy these two, it's the same price as updating the collection".egbert101 wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 4:04 pm I'm no longer interested in updating their collections (to hell with Augmented) but might consider individual instruments.

VST version of the Microfreak would be interesting if we gained access to some more modulators, filters, and the ability to layer oscillator types. Honestly with the amount of synthesis methods (albeit most of them quite "dumbed" down) available in the hardware, this could be an absolute monster. I love this synth but only one instance pfft

I predict it'll have more stuff that I'm not interested in.
