Yeah, thank you Jesse! A lot of recording work went
into this song until it sounded like this. This applies to the
clean picking and also the distorted guitars, which have
been widely panned.

I really appreciate that you take another look at the text.

Of course, this is about important life decisions and what is
important to everybody. And depending on their social and
financial situation, some people decide that they would
rather be financially secure than, for example, pursue
intellectual hobbies. At least that's what Jenny exactly does.

And yes, the famous, long-vanished department store
Macy's appears there. I chose "Macy's" because the
German equivalent "Karstadt" is harder to pronounce and
has a harder sound.

I may have given you the wrong impression about Macy's. While they are closing about 150 "underperforming" stores, there are still a lot of them left including the flagship New York store which opened in 1902. They are struggling to compete with the prices at Walmart, Target, and Amazon and are refocusing on higher-end, luxury brands.

Well, it's strange how similar the shops are: The Karstadt
stores in Germany have since gone through many insolvency
proceedings - and although they still exist today, only a few
profitable stores are left.

It's nice to hear that there are still some Macy's stores. This
means that the song "Jenny" does not just belong to the past.

This is more of a pleasant mainstream song. That makes it all
the more difficult to get a good mix. In this version - dated
02.09.2024 - we have changed:

-- Balance between clean guitar picking and vocals
-- Chorus Vocals Eq-ed
-- Interlude rimshots

Overall, this version should be a bit more transparent and
succinct.
