Uploading on Electromancer doesn't work for me.
The animated "uploading..."-Image appears, but no transfer happens.

Uploading is kinda slow. Give it a couple of minutes?

I tend to favor Broadjam.

Hey mystical fantasy.... just curious: what do you use to make the computer generated scenery that's on broadjam? Is it terragen, vue d'esprit, bryce, etc? One of them is a real pic, or am I wrong?

Electromancer.

I agree Electromancer are a great site - and still independent too, which in my view automatically qualifies them for support. :)
But no, you can't link to your tunes there.
Vic's partly right - anybody can download your tunes from within the site, but I think you're asking can you put a link elsewhere, say here for instance, and your tune will download. In which case the answer is no Electromancer don't support deep-linking.

Again, like Vic said - be patient. Even on broadband it takes a few minutes. Don't know if you're on dial-up? Either way, the uploading image should be moving. If it is, somethings happening. Just be patient.

No question: Audioshot.

Direkt linkable files in case you need them and Peter (KVR nick Spe3d) is a great guy.
Upload through FTP programs possible, which is just the most convenient thing.

IUMA is dead.
The site's still there, sure, but the place has so many problems you can no longer upload a tune to your page. If you do manage it, the file will be either incomplete or empty.
You can't even download or stream from there any more (not even in lo-fi) rendering the place a complete waste of hyper-space.
It's been like it a couple of years now.
They fixed it a year ago - for about a week. It's been broken again ever since.
Don't try to contact them about it - they'll just ignore you.
Don't try to engage them in their forums about it - they'll just ignore you.

It makes places like Electromancer all the more important to support cos Marv - the guy who runs it - puts a lot of work and money into keeping it running smoothly.
I in my turn paid my dues for a platinum account to help keep him independent. (About £12 a year, then you can have as many tracks as you like. Normally you're limited to 4).

But yeah - like everybody else keeps saying - Audioshots.

Not sure if Spe3d stopped the free accounts though?

Is half an hour enough?
I waited for about 30 minutes and no transfer happened. So I guessed the hosting server might be down, but later on it didn't work either... :(

They still exist. It's the "clear" package.

Unfourtunatly no, since we can't afford the bandwidth costs. We do hope to be able to do this someday though.

Ok, I may try it, but I won't create a new website there. Is a short artist description enough?

Actually, they have been having some server problems there - Marv just sent out a mailshot to all members to expect a little downtime while they install new servers.
Way to go, Marv! :D
