Thanks !
Kuassa Vermilion fits your needs. Surprisingly versatile and low cpu. I have an ancient pc as well and it runs fine!
It’s not very new, but in my experience those are cpu hungry.

TONEX is also low on cpu and has great none metal sounds.

I just recorded 2 clips in reaper using an old free AmpSim software vst ToneLibGFX. I think it’s great! I’d like to upload here to get some opinions on the sounds - what’s the best way to do that ?
I’ve rendered them to mp3 and on my laptop atm.

I like to use www.vocaroo.com for uploading and sharing things that I'm not worried about keeping better track of on my soundcloud or youtube.

That’s the guy who coded the algos for the version 1 Zoom multi stomp pedals (MB-60, CDR-70 etc) and Zoom GX series etc. Ampsims in those were not a strong point and the drive/distortion pedals are pretty meh too. But the modulation, delay/reverb, filter/octave/synth stuff is pretty good value for money. The chorus effects stuff is really good. I have an MB-60 on my board for random effects i use sparingly that i don’t have individual pedals for.

I like lightweight sims along the lines of kuassa or nembrini. Mostly i use HW sims,
from UA, Strymon or Quilter, since i have
all of those. Often, i just use a real tube
amp over all that. Anyway, i like to waste
as little as possible cpu when it comes to
guitar stuff.

No way I just posted in another thread yesterday describing it as sounding like those old multi fx boxes, Zoom etc :tu: :o . Yup not the most “realistic” but has a nice dynamic, responsive feel when playing … compared with the older Gen of sims. It’s more musical to my ears. Not as much ‘ripping Velcro’ sizzle going on.
heaps of fun imo. :tu:

Still Waves Voltage/PRS Supermodels when it comes to simplicity and speedy workflow. Sounds great too, otherwise I wouldn't be using them.

Pro Tools user here. Guitar is my primary instrument and I still use the Eleven Rack and/or the Eleven MKII plugin for nearly all my guitar & bass tones. I'm very much of the same mind as the guy in the video linked a few pages earlier - there are TOO MANY options out there. For meat-and-potatos tones give my my 11 Rack - for more experimental stuff I like Guitar Rig.

Kiive Lunchbox is currently on sale. Any opinions on it? I could use a good AC30 sim.

I like the 5150 they did for Sam Pura, while I haven't tried the lunchbox, I'm sure
it's pretty good. :tu:

what's the copy protection from Kiive ? it says check the Faq but the link doesn't seem to work (on my browsers anyway)

EDIT found it elsewhere - 'C/R (challenge-response) type'.
