Is there any material to learn about how to accurately emulate 'space' for films and games

I'm not sure I should post this here but I couldn't find a category for audio post production.

I want to study or research how to accurately use spacial effects such as reverb and delay to recreate various spaces(bathroom, field, cave, inside a regular room, stage, or even mythical narrations to talk about past in movies or smt) for dialogues and voices.

I feel like there should be general formulas or rules of thumb to set parameters based on the space's size, condition, surrounding materials, etc. But I can't really find much information on internet. (There are few youtube videos showing off how they use reverb for dialogues in the post production, but nobody really explains why each settings are set up in that way in depth)

Any help? :help:

There are some reverbs tailored for this try looking at altiverb?

Also convolution reverbs use recordings of tones in real places to recreate reverbs.

Most people here are after nice reverb for music, so e.g. spatial position will be less important to most people, as would trying to get e.gm a bathroom sound, or corridor sound...

This. Unreal game engine, and game-audio middleware like FMOD and WWise have convolution reverb built-in for this reason.

For film etc, recording IR of a location should maybe be as automatic as recording roomtone.

I'd also suggest that the sheer number of locations in a game/film/show predicate that trying to emulate the separate spaces via algorithmic reverbs etc is not even close to resource-effective versus IR capture.

Accentize Chameleon, it is great for real space simulations, you can make presets with IR responses also
