Might end up using drum rack if NI continues to deteriorate their lineup, basically using Battery since it came out, now at 4.x ...

Now that the piano roll is starting to become usable, it's good that with freezing, just like in Bitwig(bounce in place), can print the notes into MIDI Cap in non-realtime

probably it's Captain Obvious stuff but I've just tried it
and let's say, although it's not Ableton's merit that SSL made a mixer (360) for it; this AL thing is starting to look pretty neat
ps. ok after BWS the meta macro was also really needed https://maxforlive.com/library/device/9 ... -macro-mdx to able to feel myself at home

Huh, the account that tweeted about it in late May, Jeremy Blake (also known as Red Means Recording), seems to have deleted the tweet saying this. The only later reference I can find is this: https://x.com/jjbbllkk/status/1811053326773146034jonljacobi wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2024 12:31 amSorry to hear. They're quite nice to me for my reviews. Are their financials bad or something?jules99 wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:32 am Generally speaking, Ableton has seen quite the turmoil in recent months with over 20 percent of staff been let go soon after Superbooth. Who knows which departments were hit hardest?
My guess is that Push 3 initial sales were quite bad compared to what they expected and then Live 12 might have not given them the ... push they needed. But it's pure speculation.

Manual aside, I have never seen Ableton as productive as they have been lately…Push 3, V12 both excellent- the quick and feature rich updates since 12 are the best I ever remember…they are doing OK for me!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I'm not sure what Jeremy's Furry affiliation has to to with anything. And yes he's passionate about things, he has a YT channel with almost half a million followers, and he is very well-connected into the industry.Dalle wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2024 7:23 pmSomeone known for fetishizing cartoon animals and throwing tantrums online might not be the most reliable source for news.jules99 wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2024 7:06 pmHuh, the account that tweeted about it in late May, Jeremy Blake (also known as Red Means Recording), seems to have deleted the tweet saying this. And I'm quoting him, because he is the only public source. There were LOTS of rumors at Superbooth about the state of Ableton.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the large music tech companies were having to downsize, there is just too many companies fighting for a relatively small space. To be honest I don't really understand how half of these companies survive at all, operating costs gone up so much in he last few years but prices seem to be far lower with all the sales, its the preverbal race to the bottom..

the system took a major step forward by ensuring that modulation no longer blocks what it is assigned to. Thus, the Modulat is now completely transparent. Inputs (macro) can be observed with the observers, while the target can be modified with the modulator (while it remains accessible), aka Bitwig
ok a synthesizer or super serious things, although it's very versatile, cannot be built with it, but I don't know how much that is just a niche demand, anyway, it is much easier to follow what modulates what and it can be saved, which of course never hurts.

I used to use Battery back in the day. When Ableton created Drum Racks, that is when I stopped using Battery. I'm thinking like 08 or 09.legendCNCD wrote: Sat Jul 27, 2024 9:37 am Might end up using drum rack if NI continues to deteriorate their lineup, basically using Battery since it came out, now at 4.x ...
In Ableton the Drum Racks are just so convenient.

I think it's a general thing going on. Every one I know in vastly different areas are experiencing the same thing. A big manpower crunch. Everybody is slimming down their costs at the moment. Customers as well as companies.jules99 wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2024 7:06 pm My guess is that Push 3 initial sales were quite bad compared to what they expected and then Live 12 might have not given them the ... push they needed.
